XL Buddy Pouch

Great pouch, the only one I use. I literally use these pouches every day. They are roomy, high quality, have strong magnets, quality materials, long lasting, and secure. Only two negatives, if you put lots of stuff in it, it does bulge out and the bulge can be visible, naturally. Secondly they do not last forever, just like anything else. After you've been wearing it daily for four or five years, expect the magnets to tear through the material. Again naturally. This comment is a bit tongue in check, it lasts a long time and is worth every penny. I own literally 3 or 4 or these pouches. I bought them before the process went up or the quality went down. I bought my Wife a pink one a few years ago, the quality did not change. Great job!

My enthusiasm for running and cycling is only eclipsed by my enthusiasm for my new absurdly large Nexus 6 phone. I will not leave for a long run or ride without having my phone in the event of an emergency which made me very hesitant to buy a phone with such generous dimensions. My prior two phones were of the 5" variety and served their role in two different cases both with the traditional belt clips that I came to expect as the best available option. During all but one activity (in which the clip of one of the cases broke off and the phone surrendered to gravity) the cases served their purpose. While I eventually accepted it as normal the belt clip style cases tend to bounce around during an activity dampening my confidence in their ability to protect my glass and silicon investment. This is especially true when they are clipped to the waistband of my flimsy running shorts. Enter the Running Buddy XL. After shopping Amazon and adding and removing several belt clip style cases to my cart I came across the Running Buddy. The idea of wrapping this thing around my clothes and expecting magnets to keep it there seemed compelling but perhaps a little gimmicky. It was the positive reviews that convinced me to finally commit to the purchase. The item arrived on the day I expected it (fast shipping) and after a careful examination I was impressed with the quality of construction and also the friendly email that arrived shortly after making me feel good about the company and confident in their support (very nice touch!). Now for the flimsy shorts test. I purposefully put on the thinest shorts I have, wrapped and snapped the magnets on the Running Buddy, inserted my phone, tensioned up the drawstring on my shorts and took off for a 5 mile trail run. The Running Buddy held my phone solidly in place as if it was part of me. Even with the bigger and heavier phone I was more confident that the phone was safe and was not going anywhere that I wasn't than I have ever been with a belt clip case. Needless to say I am very happy about my decision to buy the product. My Nexus 6 with a relatively thin case fit snuggly in the front slot. Due to the size of the phone I wouldn't attempt to put much more than some cash and few cards in there with it.

Update: Lasted one year before the stitching came loose and the magnet popped out. Been using it daily and on the side of my hip as oppose to front and back. Also own the XL which I also use daily. I clip those on the back of my pants and still in excellent condition. I personally use this in-conjunction with my minimalist wallet as my wallet tend to only hold cash and cards well. Great for when i get spare change (from cash transactions) and a good place to put my spare car/home key (in case I lock myself out of my car/home). Other times I use this is when I need to do quick grocery shopping and/or fast food run in the middle of the night, still in my sweatpants and don't want anything slipping out of my pant pocket (put credit card, cash and driver's license in running buddy) when getting in-and-out of the car. Very good tight fit. No belt required. Conforms to the side of your hip really well and feels like an extension to your pants instead of an add-on. It's held together by strong magnets, and does not move or bounce around at all. Most of the time, you don't even realize it's there unless you make a conscious effort to do so. Outer material is made of the same material as the air-flow back padding in most high end backpacks and is super breathable. It's able to fit a flip phone (if you still own one of those). In terms of a 5inch phone; it does fit with normal to slim case, but note that you can't close the velcro opening flap and it might be a tight fit. If you use a modern smart phone I'd opt for the regular size or XL side running buddy. Just note that with those, you have to clip on the running buddy in front of waist instead of the side, which may look a bit awkward in public if you're not jogging or doing a physical activity. Overall very happy with this product and been using it daily. Things I wish they would change is make the company logo more subtle, and maybe add an extra inner pocket/divider in the mini version of the running buddy.

If I could, I would give the Buddy Pouch more stars! I have three that I bought for myself and I bought more to give as Christmas gifts. I'm VERY particular about my handbags and my wallets and I do research before I buy. I originally bought a Running Buddy to use to take my dog for a walk at the dog park. (I had reached the end of my patience after having my phone fall out of my pocket!) I also wanted something I could use for my debit card and driver's license because I take my dog for a treat if he behaves. I was concerned, at first, because I thought the contents might be too heavy and the magnets too light - not a problem, at all. I carry my phone, head phones, debit card, keys, and a lip gloss in the Buddy Pouch and never had a problem with it weighing down my jeans or shorts. I was also concerned that, if I wore my jeans, the magnet would be too weak to hold the Buddy Pouch in place. I also never had an issue with that. I was so pleased with the product that, after i bought the first one, I bought two more. My original Buddy Pouch was pink and I ordered one in black, for more formal occasions, and one in gold to take to the theater or symphony. I am extremely pleased with the gold one as I had been looking for something other than my usual clutch. My clutch was fine to use at the theater but, when we went out for coffee or drinks after the performance, I was concerned that I would lose the clutch, or leave it at the restaurant. With the Running Buddy, I felt comfortable taking it to the performance and then attaching it to my skirt or pants when we were at the restaurant. I never had a problem with the Buddy Pouch being too heavy for the clothing I wore on those occasions either. I was so pleased with the Buddy Pouch and it's versatility that I bought one as Christmas presents for my sister-in-law, who uses it when she's fishing, (She's an outdoor person.) and for my daughter-in-law who uses when she takes my granddaughter to the park or on a walk. They both love the convenience of having everything they need at their finger tips but not having to be "bogged" down by something they have to worry about losing. I also bought one for each of my college student aged nieces who thought it was great when they used it. So, it seems to me, that this is a great gift for yourself and for anyone. In my family. It has proven to be useful for anyone, from those who enjoy the outdoors, to those who enjoy formal occasions, to college students.

different use than they intended I am sure...but WOW - this works GREAT for TWO Glock 43 Mags - side by side. Thin, low profile, and inexpensive. TWO MODIFICATIONS I MADE - 1. Since I wear this with dress clothes I used a black permanent marker to black out the logo. 2. I carefully cut off the hook and loop tape and re-sewed it back on closer to the tab you lift up on. This keeps it MUCH lower profile. After that - I love it! The magnets make it easy to wrap around my belt with my dress clothes.... and since I live in sweats and basketball shorts when I am not at work....I like the magnets a lot - clips right on my sweats or shorts and I don't need to worry about how to carry the extra 2 mags. (I always have used a smart carry with the gun and an one extra mag) With the G43 being a recent purchase...and liking how it carries and shoots...I needed to address the round count issue. - this perfect little pouch gives me a total of 4 mags with great access - and I need this since I am coming 'down' from the Glock 26 with a G 17 back up mag for years.11+17 rounds = 28) So while I am still getting used to the Glock 43's small magazine capacity....at least I can carry 4 mags now. (so....at 6 rounds per mag and one in the barrell...I'm at 25 rounds...which makes me feel better)

As an avid runner over the years I've tried many methods of carrying my phone, arm bands, belts & now a Running Buddy XL pouch that I bought. The pouch works fine so long as you make sure you tie the draw string in your shorts. If you don't it pulls your shorts down. It is about as good as a belt with a pocket attached. However after using it a few times it darned on me its real value to me would be when I'm wearing jeans. Wearing jeans I have no place to put my phone, wallet or keys. This is where I thought the Running Buddy pouch would excel. And it almost did & might still. Using it with jeans there's room for your phone, credit cards, & a couple of keys. Perfect. However on jeans the magnetics don't hold as well. Shifting it around on the waist band of the jeans it is extremely difficult to get both magnets to attach. Frustrated I went to the Running Buddy website. Low & behold on their website I saw they make an XXL pouch & it has 3 magnets. I called Running Buddy to see if they made an XL with 3 magnets. They said no. They told me about the XXL pouch, but the XL already takes up enough room on my wast band. Don't want an even longer one. I told them of my issues & suggested they put a third magnet on the XL pouch. When & if they ever do they will have a winner. As of now I've returned my XL pouch. My running belt works just fine for running.

This pouch is great. I use it to go on my short to mid length runs (anything under 10 miles). I have run up to 5:30 minute mile pace with it and there is almost no bouncing. Things I like: - It perfectly fits my iPhone 6 and a credit card. I was worried about it being too big but it is not at all. - The little zippered hole on the side so that you can run your headphones through it and it does not bend the plug. - There is a divider in the pouch. This allows me to put my phone in the front section and everything else in the back section. This is great because when I take out my phone I do not have to worry about my credit card and license getting stuck and coming out along with it. The back compartment is not connected to the headphone zipper hole so that small things such as a key will not have the possibility of falling out. - I love the magnet design and not having anything around my waste. This helps me breathe better while running and avoid chaffing. (I have a fanny pack hydration belt combo that I use to wear before buying this and it left tiny scars on my hips from where it would continuously chafe me). I haven't used it in heavy rain yet, but I have used it in drizzling weather and it seemed to keep my phone pretty dry, especially because my shirt usually covers the pouch for added protection. Warning, as others have said you must have a tie on your pants or really tight pants (like yoga pants) to avoid it bouncing. I also like to put the inside part down the front of my boxers. Although it is less sanitary it does a little bit extra to avoid bouncing. I am thinking about buying the Running Buddy water bottle holders too! They are a bit expensive but if they are as good as this product, they should be worth it. Buy the pouch and enjoy it!

I've been through 3 fanny/running pouches before finding the Running Buddy; a wrap-around-the-waist expandable fanny pack, a pouch in my hydration belt, and an arm band for my phone. Each one worked for a while, but then I'd realize something was not meeting my standards. I have three very specific criteria when searching for the best running pack. 1) It has to be lightweight and unnoticeable. In other words, I don't want to know I'm wearing it. 2) It has to be big enough to hold my Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and other items. 3) It has to be water resistant/proof to protect my $800 smartphone. The wrap-around-the-waist fanny pack was lightweight and it's ability to expand meant I could put a ton of stuff in it. However, it was far from water proof/resistant. Wrapping my phone in a ziploc baggie or saran wrap to protect it from water caused it to overheat. Additionally, it cut into my waist giving me painful sores. The hydration belt was convenient because it was just one item I had to wear, but it wasn't water proof/resistant and it's not lightweight or unnoticeable, and I don't wear it during races. And it also cuts into my waist. The arm band was a disaster regarding all three of my criteria...I wore it once. So, in search of something, anything that would meet my criteria, I headed to Facebook and posted the question to a running group. Dozens of comments later, a few products were mentioned. And then a lone comment said, "Check out the Running Buddy". With all of the products mentioned, I did my research and based on the manufacturer's info and customer reviews (and even a few emails exchanges directly with the manufacturers), I found that the Running Buddy was the only one that claimed to meet all 3 of my criteria. So, I ordered it, thinking if it didn't work out I'd only be out $25 (compared to $40+ for the other recommended options). Upon receiving my Running Buddy, I immediately noticed that my phone fit just perfectly, but left no room for my headphone jack. Honestly, I was a little annoyed with myself for not checking that out before I bought it. So, I went to their website and there was a video about poking a hole in the side with a nail. Hmmm...not the best solution, and definitely an engineering flaw in my mind, but I did it anyway. Before I go on, let me say that the nail hole in the side has worked perfectly with no seepage. So, the next morning, I was ready for my first run with my Running Buddy, and wouldn't you know it, it was raining outside. I don't have a problem running in the rain, but I had not tested the claim of water proof/resistance made by Running Buddy. Part of me thought about leaving it behind and running anyway, but I figured why not go for broke on the test and see how it holds up. Besides, I have insurance on my phone and can easily replace that. So, off I went into the pouring rain with my first experience using the Running Buddy. During the run, I thought several times about taking the pouch back home and finishing my run without it, but I kept going. After 10 miles in sideways rain, I got home, dried off, and took my phone out of the pouch to inspect the damage. The results? The only water drops on my phone were from my wet hands when I pulled it out. In other words, it stayed as dry as a bone the entire time. As for comfort, I honestly don't know it's hanging off the front of my shorts. Granted, I have to tie my shorts good or the weight of it will pull them down, but not so tight that they're uncomfortable. Many times on long runs, I'll look down and be like, "Oh yeah, there's my Running Buddy." No kidding. It's that unnoticeable. I did try wearing it in the back, but it bounced too much. Wearing it in the front is a non-issue for me. As a bonus, because it doesn't wrap around my waist, I don't have to keep adjusting it and fighting chafing like I did with the wrap around fanny pack and hydration belt. As for my final criteria to hold everything, my Samsung Galaxy Note 5 fits snugly inside of it. Yes, snugly. But I'd rather have my phone secure than bouncing around inside of a pouch. There's not much more room to fit anything else inside of the water-resistant pouch once my phone is inside, BUT, there's a completely separate pouch for things like keys, gels, and other smaller items. Keep in mind, the Running Buddy isn't a suitcase. If you need to carry a lot of stuff, it may not be the choice for you. But for me, as a marathon runner, it carries everything I need securely. If they ever created a wider version, I'd probably upgrade for the extra space. Hey Running Buddy, contact me for some design ideas and feedback! :) Finally, I have to say that I got a bonus surprise that I was not expecting. I had a question about cleaning my Running Buddy, so I went to their website and read the FAQs. I didn't get the answer I was looking for, so I emailed them. Their website said, "Contact us...and we will get back in touch with you within 24 hrs." so I expected to hear back within 24-hours. Guess how long it took them to get back with me? THREE MINUTES! And, their response wasn't some canned customer service response. It was personal and directly answered my question. A follow up email by me resulted in another response in FIVE MINUTES! And a final follow up by me resulted in a response in TWO MINUTES. By email! What company responds that quickly by email?!?!? Should you expect that fast of response time from them if you have a question? Of course not...that's not fair to them, especially as they get bigger (maybe they'll prove me wrong with this). However, I'm confident you'll get a personal response that answers your questions directly. In summary, the Running Buddy is perfect for me. I highly recommend it for any runner looking for a unobtrusive, water proof/resistant pouch that is big enough to hold today's large smartphones and other items. I won't be searching for any other solutions, unless of course they come out with a wider version of the pouch!

到着して早速ランニングの時につけてみました。 取り付け方は簡単ですぐにランニングパンツにつけることができました。 iphone6+でも十分に収納可能でランニング中、バウンドすることがありませんでした。 両サイドが磁石になっているようで、結構磁力が強いので取れそうになることもなく、 パンツがずれるということもありませんでした。 ランニング以外にもちょっとした買い物とか行くときにも使えそうです。 カラーの種類がもっと多いとうれしいです。

Perfect for my short runs as it holds my phone (Galaxy Mini), keys & my Parkrun barcode. The magnets hold it firmly in place but I don't feel it when I'm running. Might have to invest in the bigger version as my distances increase!

I bought this to hold my Samsung Note 4 whilst running and weight training. It holds firm and does not bounce around which is great. The phone is a tight fit but fortunately there is a small zipped access slit which I can plug my headphones into my phone so I can use it for my intended use. Unfortunately there is very little room for anything else.. perhaps a key on its own and one gel for running if I needed but I haven't tried. I do think it's a little expensive for effectively what it is and given the space limitations but then it is a compromise...stick with the bum bag which bounces around but has loads of storage or go for the pouch for stability but limited to my phone and headphones.. Good concept and would be 5 stars if was a more reasonable £15 region price point. *** ADDENDUM 8th Sept 2016 *** Star rating increased to 5 (was 4) I have now been using this pouch for approximately 8 months and despite its space limitations referred to in my original review I have grown accustomed to it and have used nothing else (pouch/bumbag/belt etc wise) since. I have found that I can fit in a key (car or house, not a bunch), card/cash if needed along with my phone and has proven itself invaluable when training. Fastened to the front or rear of my clothing it has held very securely and very accessible and convenient. However and this is really why I have upgraded my review to the full 5 stars is that after this time the pouch had developed a couple of manufacturing faults. I contacted the seller (Bluegizmo) via email including a couple of photos highlighting/showing the faults and after a couple of very courteous emails within the next working day I received a free of charge replacement and a genuine apology for the problems with the pouch. You can't get better customer service than that, so perhaps I should reconsider my original statement..at least here you clearly do get what you pay for..buy a premium product, get first rate service...I just hope this second one lasts longer than the first!

Leggings with no pockets for one’s phone are a constant irritation. Do I watch a YouTube video and use my less-than-stelar sewing “skills” to cut a hole in my favourite leggings? I don’t think so. This Running Buddy pouch is perfect for more than just runners. Both the inner and outer flaps are made of soft material and clip securely to my leggings (and all of my other pants) with unobtrusive but very strong magnets. It sits close to my hip without restricting movement, and is a nice neutral black, like my soul. Since I don’t use it for running, and the elastic at the top is tight enough to stop my phone from falling out, I removed the top flap and Velcro fastener (shout-out to another reviewer for the idea!). Surprisingly, I managed this sewing-related feat with only a minor altercation with a seam-ripper. Stitches come out in two weeks!* My only suggestion would be to offer a version without the flap. For everyday use, I find the flap just gets in the way, sticks out a bit too much, and can get caught on other clothing. The flap makes perfect sense if you’re securing your phone while running, though, and since it’s a product made for running, I certainly can’t complain. Anyway, I highly recommend this product if you’re looking for a solution to your “pants without pockets” woes. And also for running, I imagine. I don’t run. *Totally kidding about the stitches, btw.
