I am an RN. The most common problem with MOST cushion seats is a SEAM that can hurt the patient with loose/elderly skin. This commode is the BEST chair we have ever purchased (we have a collection due to my mother is 100 years young). The seat is molded without a seam that would hurt her skin. The padded product they use, cleans up so great. it is thick and durable. The drop down arms are a great technology, so easy for the person transferring. They click back in with ease. It came assembled...what a plus for the busy life we have. They used pegs for adjustable height, which is simplifying finding the correct height. Some company's are using screws which are labor intensive for a person transferring at different heights. Such a stable SAFE product.

I don’t usually write reviews for things, but this deserved it. I’m only using as a commode,so that’s all that I’ll review it for,but it’s worth it for that alone. The arm rests pop up and out of the way with the touch of a button and are back to normal with the lightest of pressure to click it back in to place,allowing you room to actually clean yourself while safe in a sitting position.The medium density rubbery seat is actually extremely comfortable. Between that and the height adjustment on the commodes legs it as comfortable as can be possible considering you’re using a commode instead of an actual toilet. In all honesty,it’s more comfortable than the toilet now. I’ll actually have to get used to the regular toilet once I can walk and get myself back and forth to the bathroom myself again.The pot itself has a nice lid allowing for SOME privacy when I bring it to the bathroom to empty it. My only improvements would be #1 a slightly larger pot so that I don’t have to dump it immediately if I’m having a particularly bad night,#2 a handle to make it a little seeker to carry back and forth to the bathroom myself and #3 a seat that lifter so that I could see the channel that I need to slide the pot into when returning it to the commode. I eventually got used to sliding it back together without bending way over to try to look for the groove that the pot slides into. Just could have been a little easier.Easily 5 stars out of 5 stars for the commode portion of the seat. As for the shower seat,I haven’t used it for that, but it seems like it would be a perfect seat for that as well, allowing for access to both sides of the seat once the arms pop up and out of the way. I would HIGHLY recommend this seat/commode for anyone who needs the assistance, whether it be a permanent, or for use temporarily. The product was fine, but was to small for me. Tried to send it back but would cost $80.00 and this was the last day to send it back. So now I am stuck with it. Is there any way you can help me with this problem? Thank you.

After much online searching for a portable commode with an an actual elongated seat, we came across this product. While not inexpensive, it looked like it might meet the needs, so an order was placed. The ordering process was easy and delivery was smooth and quick. This is a very well designed product with much flexibility. We found that this product is EXACTLY what was needed. The flexibility it provides make it well worth the cost.We have a few suggestions for future product enhancements. These are insights from the person who actually needs this product and based on that need, sees other uses.The addition of a flat seat cover (NOT like a toilet seat cover) to allow the product to function as an actual seat as well as commode would enhance the function. Add a full flat covering to fit over the molded plastic seat (without the bucket), perhaps made of silicone wrapping around the plastic, or a fabric cover that could attach with velcro hook and loop straps. A person needing the additional height to rise from a seated position also needs that when rising from a chair. When traveling, suitable seating is often not available. It would be a bonus to also be able to use this folding portable device also as a seat.A further enhancement would be to make the seat back removable (when using over a toilet). Additionally, rotating the thick part of the plastic holding the seat back, so they face sideways vs. back, would provide more clearance with the toilet tank.A person needing this equipment would prefer not to advertise what it is. Adding the option of a discrete carrying cover would be an appreciated bonus.

Exercise extreme caution and refrain from purchasing this product. Despite my limited weight of 160 pounds and my reliance on medically assisted devices, I attempted to contact the manufacturer or Amazon to resolve the issue. Unfortunately, after sustaining an injury and having the chair break, I received no responses from either party. This product is not worth the risk due to the lack of communication and the unsatisfactory experience with both Platinum and Amazon.

It doesn't work when you need it for travel... as a paraplegic who travels constantly, I was hoping it would be a little easier to carry and not have to disassemble and reassemble every time I travel. Otherwise, it works; it's made of good material, it's solid, and the weight is adequate. It's a good product, but they should consider making a portable model. Count on my feedback when they have one...
