Exactly what you need to fix spinning door lock
I have been waiting to review this item. Car lock broke and my husband called me in a panic thinking we would have to bring to dealer and pay for new clicker and have door lock fixed etc. I found out about the cylinder replacement through YouTube and proceeded to purchase this item. The parts arrived as expected. No instructions though so back to YouTube for DIY videos. The parts are so far working great it's just the process of replacing the parts that is difficult. I will definitely buy from this seller in the future. I just hope I won't need to be a repeat customer!

Inexpensive fix, but probably not for the mechanically inept.
The components fit perfectly and appear to be made to a similar standard as oem. This is a cheap fix but be warned, if your not mechanically incline, get someone else to disassemble and reassemble as the process is arduous for even the skilled.

Works good-hope you’re mechanically inclined!
This is a great little kit to fix a common problem with the E-46. Everything fit well except the spring. I ended up using my old spring. Theirs was too stiff. I have had 35 year experience restoring old sports cars and motorcycles and feel I am pretty good at it. What I thought would be an easy half hour fix took me 1 hour to finish. I had a lot of trouble winding the spring back and ended up using my old spring that was shorter. This kit comes with no directions but there are some good u-tube videos that really help, the first will tell you how to remove the lock from the car, just type in the words “remove e-46 door lock” the second will help you with taking the lock apart. Just type in “E46 E90 Door Lock Repair Kit DIY Tutorial” Also remember the door will not lock when it is open! I would have saved 10 minutes if I had remembered this. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because of no directions, and a spring that is too long.

Good Customer Service
RegulatorFix stands by their product. I ordered one and received it within a week, and installed it in my 2003 325i with the help of a few youtube videos. I immediately noticed that the lock cylinder was tough to turn, but it worked. A few weeks later, the lock failed. I emailed RegulatorFix, and they sent out a whole new kit, free of charge. I installed it and it works flawlessly. Kudos RegulatorFix!

Will not buy again unless made with stronger and better material!!
Very poorly made and did not last a month. Installed properly and worked as it should for the short time but broke and now back to square one with locking and unlocking my doors!! I'm giving a 1 star soley based off of how cheaply it's made. If made with stronger and better material, I may consider purchasing another kit in the future for a project.

Saved a Huge amount of money fixing it myself!
This replacement part kit worked very very well for my 2002 BMW M3. Save me a ton of money and was only a little bit tricky to put together because of a spring that you had to compress in a very careful way. That said, start to finish was 20 minutes.!!

Kit needs work but worth it
As yellerhonda states below, you will need to enlarge the hole in the left hand drive ring a tad. If you have a round file use that, if not use a utility knife and shave off a bit of the hole on the bottom side of the ring. That is all it needed just a tad of shaving Otherwise I used all old parts that were not broken including the spring as none of the new parts fit perfectly. Nevertheless at this price kit is worth it to fix a pesty problem. My lock works now. Grease everything up best you can (used white lithium grease-but any grease, even Vaseline should work). Use online videos for procedure and keep the key in the lock while making the repair. Gently check your work when done with mechanism out the door. Dont' force anything--if not working well take apart and start over. Spent more time figuring out what to do than actually fixing the lock. I have 2001 BMW 325Ci. Agree 50sKid has some great BMW DIY videos. Also if you BMW key buttons do not work anymore to lock/unlock there is a reprogramming procedure/video on the web. It worked for one of my keys but not the other. For the other, I bought a $10 key on amazon and programmed it so the buttons work. I cut off the metal "key" part and use it as a FOB on my keychain along with my original key which I still need to start the car. Good luck. Anything to avoid my pocket drain at the Stealership.
