I have a great upright, Miele
I bought this vacuum a few months ago. I was looking for a small hand held to vacuum my stairs, which are carpeted. I have a great upright, Miele, with an attachment to do the stairs but I never felt as though they were ever as clean as they could be. I did a lot of research on these small hand held vacuums. They all seemed to mention similar problems. Overheating etc. Not being able to use them after they overheat because it took too long for them to cool. Another reviewer wrote a great review explaining their own struggles and how they solved them. The canister is very small since it's a small vac. It fills up very easily and that can cause the overheating problem. I have not had any problems with it overheating because I empty the canister after every use and clean the filter assembly often to keep it from clogging and diminishing suction. I really like how this unit operates. It sucks very strongly and I can see all the carpet up on end after each use. It also has a nice long cord so I can go all the way up the stairs without having to plug it into another out let. After each use the canister is probably 1/3 to 1/2 full with dust and dirt. Not 1/2 packed, but still pretty full. It does a great job. I think as long as the user consistently empties the canister and periodically cleans the filter assembly you should be good. It does give off a lot of heat when using it but I have found that from most vacuum cleaners. I don't use it for pet hair, so I can't comment on that application. GIve this model a chance and I don't think you will be disappointed.

Not the best design
Although the suctions works good...the flap that comes down to cover the brushes, when using the hose, doesn't stay down. It was really hot, and I set the vac on the vinyl seats in my boat...and the safety flap doesn't' stay down, and it ripped two holes in my seat. :-(So, you have to be very cautious where you set it down, when using the accessory hose.Bad design....good suction.

Bought for many, many stairs. Loud and messy cleanup.
I live in a 3 story townhouse that has multiple carpeted staircases, and was tired of hauling and balancing my upright vacuum up and down the stairs, putting myself in precarious positions. I felt a hand vac was the answer, and this one seemed to be the only one I could ever find in stores that met my needs. (Mine is blue, not silver.)It's LOUD. My ear was ringing by the time I was done. Will have to remember to use earplugs next time.It started getting warm to the touch and giving off a bit of a 'warm plastic/hot dust' smell by the time I finished the first staircase. I stopped and let it cool down before tackling the next staircase. It did suck up a LOT of crap from my carpets, but that could just be a negative testament of my cleaning habits. (Did I mention I hate using a full vacuum on stairs?) I had to empty the cup every 7 stairs or so. It didn't really lift up the carpet fibers like the regular vac did, but it sure did pull up a lot. I don't have pets, but it's, um, been a while since I vacuumed the stairs, so maybe this evens out what I pulled up.It's a nice size and has several useful attachments. The cord was plenty long enough to do the full flights. It was not heavy or hard to manipulate. I did not pull any muscles or bruise myself or lose my balance or trip while using it, which made the whole process bearable. I was just not impressed or excited by the results, as some things I had to go over multiple times to get it to suck up. (like fake Christmas tree needles that are worse than Easter grass. I DO vacuum the rest of the house more often than that, I swear! It's just those awful stairs . . .)I dislike having to empty the cup and clean the HEPA filter, mainly because I made a huge mess while doing so. Next time I think I'll just take it and a can of compressed air and head outside. The neighbors can think what they like. I still feel like I'm covered in dust and that I need to clean AGAIN. Ugh.

Works great
I bought this vacuum to carry in the camper and it works great for that and is small enough for me to store.

Perfect for my mortorhome
Just as my title says. This unit is powerful enough to take care of all of my needs in my motorhome. It picks up sand and dirt with ease and empties in a flash. It is also small enough that it tucks away neatly in one of my storage areas. Always a necessity in a motorhome or trailer. If you need one get one!!!

Very good
This is the second one of these that I have had. I wouldn't be without one. I have a cat who lies on the back of the furniture and this is great for removing the cat hair. I would highly recommend to anyone.

Great Shark!!!!
The hand held Euro-Pro Shark vacuum cleaner is wonderful. It has great suction power and is not too heavy. You can manouever it into small spaces. I have had many other brands of handhelds and this is definitely the best.
