Late Victorian Womens Tall Hat Pattern

This is the first pattern that I've purchased from this designer, and if this is any indication of her work, it will be my last. I wasn't able to even start on the hat because of the phoned-in instructions for the brim block.Supplies listed 10" Styrofoam wreath. Really? What kind? Tubular or flat back? And 10", would that be for the inner or outer diameter? "Cut 10 wedges out of wreath" What's the distance between the wedges? And the small diagram in the bottom corner that you're suppose to refer to is just a doughnut with slashes through it.The only mention about fitting is a couple of contradictory sentences about making sure that the block fits your head, but it doesn't have to "sit down on the head".But my biggest pet-peeve is the fact that the instructions for building the block would create a brim with unpredictable measurements and that is suppose to magically fit to a static crown.No amount of justification for all of these issues is worth the money. This 'pattern' would have been better off as a free tutorial.
