Kaytee Stoneware Ceramic Pet Hamster Bowl, Brown, 5-Inch

One of my stainless steel bowls started smelling metallic, so I got these bowls to replace them. They're not too heavy, enough to keep them from slipping around. I placed them inside a wooden box in my birds' cage, and the box hasn't fallen apart (yet). I got the 3-inch bowls, and they're fine for my lovebirds. They can reach the food, but if the bowls were slightly more shallow, they'd be perfect. These are glazed nicely, with no air bubbles. The bottoms of the bowls aren't glazed (obviously), and I made the mistake of putting one of the bowls on top of their cage, so the clay got a little scratched. I also dropped one from about a foot high, and it didn't break or get a scratch on the glaze, thankfully. Worth it.

We do wildlife rehab, and I have been using these for the orphaned squirrels. The little hoodlums chew anything plastic and have flipped over the little ceramic dishes I had put in the cage. I have one of these 5-inch bowls filled with water in the cage with two brothers, and it has never been tipped over or had any significant splashing. Another 5inch bowl is filled with food in the cage with a fox squirrel, and she has never flipped that. It has really cut down on the food falling through the cage into her waste tray. It is heavy enough that it would be difficult to tip, even when just filled with food. A single gray has a 3-inch bowl filled with food which she does not seem to have flipped, though I'm sure she would be able to do so with no difficulty, she just is less destructive than the boys. The finish is smooth, with a uniform glaze, and they rinse out easily. I have ordered another one of the 5-inch bowls.

One of my cats likes to dip paws in water , move the previous ceramic bowl around and tip it. For months I have had to mop a soaking corner. When I got this bowl I put it in a porcelain saucer to make it heavier and it has worked wonders. Every now and then I see it has moved very little as evidence this cat tried to be naughty but didn’t get too far. The only reason I gave it a 4 star instead of 5 is because it only comes in a small size and it does not have an inward lip. Very easy to clean and keeps the water fresh. Overall I recommend it. Perfect is to u face 1 or 2 cats. If you hace a few, then you may have to fill it twice a day at times. So far it has been the BEST and very AFFORDABLE Ceramic bowl I have found that has worked.

Perfect replacement for bowls our parrot broke. We have an old California cage for our cockatoo. When these first arrived I thought they would be too large, but they fit perfectly and she isn't able to slam them around as easily :)

These bowls are excellent quality. The glazing is thick, smooth and also covers the bottom so that they do not absorb moisture. Easy to clean and nice heavy weight even for rabbits. Highly recommend!

Great product, good size for hamsters, safe

Great quality, incredible price as an add-on item. I was looking for a stone water bowl for my German shepherd puppy, who would constantly knock his over. While this bowl has a very good weight to it, my pup picked it up and carried it to his bed the first day. Didn’t work out for my intended purpose but still a great item. Will just use as a key/change bowl on my front door table.

My darling angel is a large Flemish Giant. Although she is a rabbit, I sometimes wonder if she is part water boar. She requires a good amount of water each day to keep healthy and happy. I must say she thoroughly enjoys drinking from this exquisitely crafted brown bowl. It will help keep my precious baby girl hydrated each glowing day. And for that I will smile each time I fill it. It’s perfect for my Guinea pigs water dish and it doesn’t tip over.

This is a good dish for pellets. It holds a little over 1/4 cup of pellets - which is perfect for a day's feeding for 2 guinea pigs. It is solid, well made and easy to clean in both dishwasher or sink. I use the larger version (5") to feed veggies, treats or hay.
