More holes than swiss cheese.
This is my 4th Presonus Audio Interface over 20 years. Not because they are going bad (just the first one), but because they sound great, are easy to work with, and just nail my needs. This thing has more holes than swiss cheese. Holes for rack mounts, holes for multiple pairs of headphones, holes for instruments, synths, and microphones all at the same time. I have two microphones plugged in ready to go, my Roland SP 404 Mk2 plugged in to send and receive audio (in and out), as well as my stereo guitar rig. I still have 4 inputs available for anything! The knobs feel smooth. The buttons feel nice and have a little give on them so you FEEL like you are pressing something. Having all the controls on the front and most of the inputs and outputs on the back is convenient. Everything that you need is always within arms reach.

Definitely punches above it weight! Great preamps
I needed a USB-C interface for 8 mics that would plug right into my MacBook Pro and work in Logic with no mess or complications.. This did EXACTLY that! Preamps are very good. I’m using Rode Podcaster mics, and have tried out a few condensers/48v mics (Aston, Sennheiser). All sound great. Lots of inputs and output options. Works seamlessly in Logic, just plug n play! I use a UAD Apollo Twin MkII as my usual interface, and it has the best preamps I’ve ever used in an interface. That being said the Presonus is no slouch and can keep up with the Apollo if needed. All in all, very good interface!

Absolutely fantastic product - great deal!
Fantastic product with excellent sound quality and connectivity. Simple to install, sounds great and works flawlessly. No idea how they can make money with this feature set for such a low price. Easy integration into any DAW (I use Bitwig and Studio One).

Loved it...while it worked. Died 13 days after warranty expired.
BUYER BEWARE!!! Worked great, and perfectly fit my needs. That said, it became unresponsive 2 years and 13 days after purchase. It is alarming how many message board posts you'll find that fit my example. -------------From Presonus---------- Unfortunately your product has developed a fault outside of your warranty period. • We can not offer you a warranty claim • Due to the way in which this product is manufactured, it is not possible to offer an economical out of warranty repair service. • Your retailer may have an extended warranty period that surpasses the PreSonus warranty. Please contact them if this is the case • We do not issue schematics or service manuals under any circumstances

Great, but loopback annoyingly limited
Overall great product, but if you plan to use the loopback driver feature, it has odd limitations. The idea is great, a virtual interface to get sound in/out of other applications on the computer. Most DAWs make that surprisingly difficult, so native driver support is really nice! You have 3 options, Off, Physical and Virtual. The manual describes that physical shares inputs 1/2 and virtual uses inputs 19/20 (which only exist in software), great so far! The problem is that option only effects the input (what the app sees as a Mic), the output (what the app sees as a speaker) always shares physical outputs 1/2. There is no software-only virtual output like there is a virtual input. It is slightly annoying that you are forced to give up an output pair, but these devices have plenty of outputs so that doesn't bother me too much. It is SUPER annoying that you are forced to use outputs 1/2, which are designed to be the main outputs of the device. Why not use the top numbered output pair, or even better, one of the ADAT output pairs that most people would probably never use? Here are the limitations caused by the loopback app occupying outputs 1/2 --Main speakers must be routed to a different output --Volume knob on the front can't control main speakers --Headphone 1 output can only be used to listen to the loopback app --Main signal meter LEDs show the loopback app output, not your main mix --Wastes a physical output pair

DOES NOT ACTUALLY HAVE 8 ANALOG OUTS
I upgraded to the 1824c after using the 24 for a couple yers. theres one really important thing I wish I knew before buying this interface. The analog outs on the back. There are not 8 outs and 2 mains as indicated. There are 6 outs and 2 mains. The unit is hardwired?? to receive a mimic of the mains 1/2 send directly to channels 3/4. making them unusable for daw sends and outboard processing. I had planned on having 8 outs sent to my console for analog mixing. The way I got around this was using my old 24 as an aggregate device and just adding it to the chain as 19/20. this issue isn't listed anywhere in the manual or on presonus' site. it was a very frustrating 2 + hours last night trying to see if I had wasted money on the incorrect interface. The rabbit hole issue is that allegedly you can use universal control to change the routing and use 3/4 as individual outs as opposed to getting a copy of whatever is coming from 1 and 2 but this may be a windows only option because it is not in the iOS universal control window anywhere. In fact the onboard mixer of this unit is completely useless I cant think of any situation where it would be more useful than a daw. Updating the drivers did nothing. Restarting did nothing. I still want to believe theres some hidden iOS menu im just too thick to understand but theres not. It's a great interface but 2 2/5 due to it being mis advertised. 5/5 on sound quality pre amps/design/price. if someone has a fix for this please let me know. I like the power button.
