Lumintrail 18mm Heavy Duty 5-Digit Bicycle Bike Combination U-Lock - Assorted Colors

I'm mostly writing this to share how to reset the combination, because mine didn't come with instructions and I simply couldn't find the instructions online.To reset the combination:1. Enter the correct combination.2. Using a Phillips screwdriver (mine came with one), unscrew the small, metal plate next to the combination.3. Flip the switch underneath to the downward position.4. Change the numbers to the new, desired combination.5. Flip the switch back to the upward position.6. Replace the small, metal plate.7. Test your combination.8 Go ride your bike!

I just got this product and guess what, it does not work.1. The thief can literally do exactly what they instruct you to do to set/reset a password.2. Also, in the SET mode of the switch the lock is ALWAYS OPEN.So all the thief has to do is open the dustproof thing, unscrew the the little metal thingy and change the switch from 'off' to SET and there goes the u lock.PS - i did all this while the U lock was in the socket. I can post a video if someone likes.Please tell me i am wrong or i am missing something because i want this to work and it is beyond me how this was not a part of the design.

My bike, unfortunately, was stolen at the campus a while back by thieves who cut through my cable lock. After buying this lock, my new bike likely felt invulnerable. There have been a few more reports of stolen bikes at the campus in the past few months, but I still have mine. Try cutting through 18mm of pure steel, thieves! (Truth be told, any lock can be broken, including this one, but the quality of this lock and the protection it provides is definitely beyond its competitors.)

The lock works well, and it is definitely easier to open and use without the need for keys. The shackle is too short to lock the frame of my bike to the wheel, and too short to lock two bikes together on my rack because there is a gap of a few inches between them. It would be great if they sold an extra long shackle for people like me! Also no means to mount it on bike while riding...

This is a great bike lock. If you prefer combination locks to key locks then this is the lock for you.A suggestion for Lumintrail, make the lock a couple inches longer.

Very good and seems well built

So far it has been a good lock. Use the cable to wrap around the wheels and frame. And the Ulock part to lock the bike frame and back tire to a bike stand. Love the fact that I dont need to carry a key with me Its a bit heavy though so you will want to bring a way to carry it!

I am using this lock for two weeks now. Namely, to lock my bike which I leave outdoors. It is February and in California where I live it was rainy for a total of about 5 days. Right now, I *cannot open* the u-lock except if I put a tremendous amount of effort. The reason? The push-button mechanism is stuck. Why? Corrosion. Why? Because of poor design. This is despite the fact that I used lube to loosen it (this worked for one day, but the next was equally bad). Too bad, since otherwise the price is good and the clock is a "heavy"/"sturdy" one.
