The Belgariad Series 5 Books Collection Set By David Eddings Pawn Of Prophecy Paperback – 1 Jan. 2019

I read the Belgariad series back in the 80s and I wanted to re-read them again after finishing the last book in the Shannara series got my itch to read some more classic fantasy. While many people will bemoan the fact that it follows Tolkien, or the story is not complex enough, that is not what drove me to read all the books. The characters in the book are so well fleshed out that they stay with you even when you are not reading the book. It is one of the few series where I can almost feel the characters are real. This is the pure magic and joy of the Belgariad series. I find myself always going back to this story every few years just to enjoy the characters the ride the story takes me on.

I bought the whole series in one set due to the excellent price, plus the possibility of the series not being available again when I want to go on holiday. I read the whole series in my younger days and remember it fondly .

Amazing story, very vivid descriptions of places and people almost as if you were looking at them in person. Always loved David Eddings books but this set is above those. Looking forward to the next set.

1st read this in the 80s so wanted to read again. Simple straightforward story of the boy Garion & the emergence of his prophetic heritage supported by Belgareth & Polgara, his journey to Rivan King is fraught with intrigue & plots with a wealth of supporting character. Great story recommended

Read this when I was young ...so brilliant I owned the Complete set of 10 books + I read all books every year for 12 years !!! OD?? Yes but I loved it..... My old books are a bit tattered so I decided to buy new set.... and re read againOnly wish David's wife would have let Movie makers make full length filmWould pay millions to do this if I had it lol .Great epic !!!

Original and engaging. Deserves its place in the npantheon of timeless classic series. Suffers from repetitive "kind of" and "sort of" descriptive language. Further series by the author(s) were formulaic, but this one stands alone very well.

Received quickly and well packaged. Was expecting a "collection/set" instead received 5 books banded together. Not really suitable for a gift/present, but is as described so my own fault.
