STANLEY Pliers, Diagonal Cutting, 6-Inch (84-105)

At work I am constantly cutting zip ties so I need a good pair of "snips" as we call them. Originally I used 8" snips but I quickly lost those and they also didn't fit well in my tool belt. I went shopping for smaller, cheap alternatives on Amazon and ran across these. After using them for several months, I am quite happy with them. These 6" snips work just as well as my 8" snips did at cutting zip ties, yet they are smaller and inexpensive. If I lose these again (loaning them out and not getting them back, them falling out of my pocket or toolbelt, etc.) then I can place another order here on Amazon and it won't break the bank. There is a slight issue with the black and yellow grips sliding downwards, but this is easily rectified by twisting and sliding them back up. Overall, I am very satisfied with them. This is now my go-to pair of snips. Way cheaper than Kobalt, yet just as effective.

These are very handy for removing mangled nails during our home remodeling! The first try for nails is a hammer or crowbar. But sometimes the nail heads bend up and then there's nowhere for the hammer claw or crowbar to grasp. At that point it’s diagonal cutting pliers to the rescue! Just put the flat side of the pliers against the board/wall, grab the base of the nail and lever outwards. If it’s a very small nail, e.g. finishing nail, and you can’t pry it out, just use the pliers to cut the nail. I like this smaller 6” size because they fit in my "tool belt" (I use a nail apron as my tool belt). Sometimes you’ll hear these referred to as “dikes”, usually by the older generation. This is just a shortened version of the name DIagonal CutterS. However, since the term ‘dyke’ is derogatory, the name ‘dike’ is mostly avoided these days (or explained, “I’m using the shortened form of diagonal cutter, I’m not saying dyke.”). It would be sad if someone was walking by and overhead and got offended because they didn’t know we were talking about our tools :( So, you can just call them diags or wire cutters if you want a shorter name and you’re not in a private area.

As the title says, these are the cheapest, reliable cutters you will find on Amazon. As an add on, these are a steal. I broke my previous set of cycling cutters and have a pair coming from the UK so I needed a short- term solution. I just installed fresh cables and housing on a bike with these and they work very well. The one complaint I have is that you have choke back on the cutter to use it effectively, which eliminates a bit of the front of the cutter. However, that's to be expected for heavier cuts, given the compact size of these. In short, these are extremely cheap, but reliable and of good quality. They are sufficient for small and medium applications and well made. I'd purchase them again, especially at the add on price.

These little pliers are the no frills get the job done tool for wire cutting. I installed a rabbit fence around my raised flower garden last weekend and needed to cut off the last foot of fence since it overlapped and needed to do it with wire cutters due to the strength of the fence. I was able to cut through the wire fence in under 10 minutes and with very good consistency to avoid any sharp edges left. They seem to be well made and durable for all my needs. They should be an essential tool in anyone's tool box for a nice clean cut on any type of typical wire. Overall a great value and very practical tool

These pliers came well-oiled and ready to use. The grips are very comfortable and allow for just the amount of leverage I need when using them. They are not ultra sharp so don't expect to be cutting anything too thick or strong, but for my purposes around the house they work just fine. I would recommend!

A good, small cutting plier. The rubberized grip is very comfortable, and the cutting edge works well for small cutting needs. I typically use it for cutting zip ties, guitar strings, and plant stems, so I have yet to try it on denser or thicker grade wires; but I have no doubt that these should be able to adequately handle most types of smaller wires. The size is good for utility drawers and boxes, as well as pant pockets and tool belts. Stanley offers a lifetime warranty in the event that they fail to perform at any time. They simply request that you call their toll-free number to arrange for a return/replacement.

These are impressive cutters, they are strong, the grips are great for holding them in the hand without slipping. They came well oiled. The product description is exactly as stated. Note the rubber grips are not meant to prevent electric shock as clearly stated on the packaging that came with it. I would buy these again and recommend them to friends. Note there is no spring load so these must be opened and closed each time you want to cut. Stanley is a good brand and the quality is on par, they look well made.

I bought this to cut wire I use for framing pictures. From day 1 it was difficult at best to cut wire. I thought it was me and had my husband try, he also had a hard time. I waited and continued to use it thinking I would eventually get the hang of cutting wire and it was something I was doing wrong but turns out it just is not sharp and therefore will not cut. Unfortunately I waited too long and now can't return it but I'm very disappointed in this product and would not recommend buying it.

Pince coupante... oui ! Mais tout depend ce que vous voulez couper... Elle coupe le beure magistralement !! Elle coupe le carton san trop de difficultés ! Elle coupe un fil electrique... mais pas trop gros … Elle ne coupe pas les ongles de pied de Chuck Norris, pas plus que le la tete du petit clou que vous venez de planter et qui depasse de qq millimetres... bref : c est une pince !
