OtterBox Defender Series SCREENLESS Case Case for Galaxy S10 - Black

Okay. I don’t normally write reviews, but this case is worthy! Sorry it’s so long, but the story is important. While out with my husband, driving 2 cars, we make a stop and I am chatting with my husband. Not thinking about it (I know, my husband already called me out for being an idiot) I set my phone on the hood of his truck. Not thinking about it, my phone stays on the hood of the truck. I go back to my car, and off we go. A solid 10 minutes later, driving down the road at 55mph, I realize that I don’t have my phone. I ask my daughter to call my husband and let him know - surely it fell off and I needed to turn back to look for it. My daughter calls my husband, and as I’m explaining, I WATCH MY PHONE FLY OFF OF HIS TRUCK. At this point, I’ve accepted the fate that the phone will be destroyed - but I need to get it so I can return it when I claim on my insurance through my provider. I turn around and find the phone laying in the road. After safely parking and making sure there’s no one barreling down the road - I run into the road and grab the mess of a phone, then run back to my car. I look at my phone while I’m in the car. At first it seemed ruined - the case was partially off the phone, a piece was missing from the case, and the case had some spots suffering from road rash. Instinctively, I remove the case. THE PHONE WORKS!!! Not only does the phone work, but there is NO damage to my phone. Not one scratch. Not one chip. Nothing. I do have a screen protector on the phone (this case in particular does not cover the screen) so that’s another miracle. But watching my phone literally fly through the air and smash down on the pavement, I am so impressed that this case did exactly what it’s meant to do. So, five stars Otterbox! Definitely getting another one!

The case itself is exactly what you would expect from Otterbox - sturdy with thick cushioning, should be great protection if I drop my phone. As a bonus feature, the rubber outside layer has little nubs that push the side buttons when pressure is applied. My husband cut off these interior and exterior nubs for the stupid Bixby button, and presto---no more accidently opening a useless app everyone hates when you're trying to adjust the volume! (Please note: I am not suggesting anyone do this, just stating a slight modification we made to the product that improved our overall experience.) I've noticed some complaints about the curved screen not being adequately covered, and I disagree---there is a huge gap between phone and table when the phone is placed facedown on a surface (see photo). It may be slightly less protection than a flat screen phone gets, but that is an issue with the phone and not the case. If you choose a curved screen phone, no case is going to provide you with the same kind of protection you had with your flat screen phone. That being said, this case is pretty dang close. Super happy, and the only downside is the limited colors that were offered.

Delivery and Intial Installation Review : This review will have two parts to this review in different time frames , the delivery and installment , then use over time . I plan to write a review in 3 months , and then another 3 months later for a total of 6 months of use . So first part : delivery . I ordered the otter the night before because i cancelled my last order of the wrong case . Even though it said it would be delivered by 9pm the next day , i was worries my order would be delayed like one other product i ordered from . Not to worry , Amazon kept me updated and viola , my case came at around 7:30pm ( i wasn't paying too much attention to the time sorry ) . Went and got my package and we come to putting on the case . Taking the case apart was a bit challenging due to the fact that it was my first time using a defender , and i can be quite heavy handed and tend to rip or break things accidentally even when im careful . Even with my rough handling , my case was fine and nothing was damaged which is a good look . I like that it was hard to pry open because if applied correctly , it would be difficult for my phone to slip from the case . After putting everything together ,i noticed how much heavier my phone was and how " padded " the casing was . I feel like my case is secure . In the next 3 months , i will see how my case does along with an additional 3 months and perhaps even a year from now . I look forward to the results . P . S . Ive heard a lot of people complaining about their cases , but ive noticed that all those people ordered the purple one ; i have the blue one . Perhaps avoiding the purple one would be best ? Also also , i will confirm from other complaints that the sides are kinda out on the sides . It's leveled with the case to be exact . Be mindful of that . Well , see you in 3 months ! ((

Expensive, but it's doing the job I need it to do. I've dropped my Galaxy 10 a few times on the hardwood floor at home (including face down) and thankfully, no issues. As a call out, I do not have any special screen protector... it's still the one that came from the factory. I don't use the clip part, so no commentary there. I did hold onto it as I think it might be handy when our baby comes in the Spring, I can imagine clipping it to the carrier. Only minor complaint that I have design-wise is that the little flap that goes over the power cord slot is top-down (connected near the screen), meaning I am pulling it up each time to charge or if it's sticking out, just touching it while I text/browse. My husband has the same case for his Note and the skinny strip of the softer outside part (the little strip above the charger port) has become loose and floppy and the hard inner case has cracked off the bottom. This has actually happened to him twice with this case - he's about to order his 3rd. He thinks it's related to pulling it out of his pocket by the end rather than the sides, but I don't agree. That wouldn't crack the plastic... but even with this happening (and him now toting the phone around for about 10 months with that bottom pastic part missing, and he's dropped it plenty since) it hasn't impacted the functionality, his phone is still in good shape. But is definitely an eyesore. I try to remind myself to be gentle due to this. In all fairness, when he broke the other two cases, he was working in a warehouse with a concrete floor, so it might have happened there. Included two pictures (my phone, the Galaxy 10) so you can see the flap and a little bit of a side profile. Still happy with the product. Too expensive of a phone to not feel confident about the protection. Wouldn't it be great if they didn't make phones so fragile??

This otter case was exactly what I was looking to replace. It worked great, and I wanted the exact same one and found it!

I have trusted otterboxes for over a decade to protect my devices and I love them. Today I decided to write this review because, well it's time. This morning I was rushing out per my usual, hopped in my 96 chevy blazer and started looking for my phone. Looked to my right because I usually toss it in the passenger seat but didn't see it. My truck beeeeerpppppps if the door is open so I went to close the door. Door didn't close but I figured it was the seat belt. Pulled my seat belt on and tried to close the door a second time...just harder still no close. So I pushed the door open, look down and there is my phone. Screen is literally shattered so much only the screen protector was holding the shards in place. I took it in to get it repaired when I realized that the phone still powered on and I could still see my screen lock. Told the guy what happened, as he inspected the phone to be sure only the screen was damaged and he says "wow, yep just the screen" I said "if it weren't for the otterbox it would've been crushed in half" lol he said yep good thing you had it! So no internal damage, not so much as a scratch on the back after being smashed not one, but twice by a steel automobile door. Otterbox for the win!

By far the best brand case to protect your phone. I've always used the Otterbox brand since the original galaxy phone was introduced and the defender series is the best. My previous phone was a Galaxy S7 Edge which was always cased in the defender series. My lifestyle and job is rough and my phone was dropped many of times at all different angles and the Otterbox protected my phone with minimal issues. The only issue I experienced with the S7 case was that the otterbox built in screen protector was inhibiting the use of the touch screen but my screen never cracked or scratched and phone continues to work flawlessly. With the Otterbox s10 case there is no built in screen protector but upon further research I found that the S10 is built with Corning Gorilla Glass 6 which is supposedly impact and scratch resistant. No screen protector means more ease of use in regards to the touchscreen but I worry that with my rough lifestyle and job that the screen is more susceptible to getting cracked. Overall the S10 defender series case is a product that'll increase the protection of your phone. It's built tough for a tough lifestyle. I really like the feel as the textured rubber surface allows for better grip as well as more protection.

EDIT: I HAD THIS CASE FOR OVER FOUR YEARS BEFORE I HAD TO REPLACE IT (replaced with the same one of course) & I probably wouldn't have had to if I hadn't grown irritated & impatient yanking the case off my phone because I couldn't remember how it was supposed to be properly removed & I used brute force which broke the bottom corner... but that was my fault. Original Review: TWO YEARS now, I've had this phone case. It's 25 months old, and yesterday it survived a SECOND fall from the phone-holder on my motorcycle. Both times I felt the phone hit my thigh & spotted the phone bounce off my leg & go flying. Both times I stopped & ran back to pick it up off the road. Both times, my phone looks & operates perfectly, there's not a thing wrong with the screen. The first time, I was slowing for a Stop sign, but yesterday I was going probably 50 miles an hour when this phone hit the road! The one corner of this Otterbox Case is now chewed up a little bit from the asphalt, & the other three corners are slightly scuffed up. That's it for damage, the phone case did not crack anywhere! I'm legitimately impressed, yesterday I was shocked but today I'm just grateful, so much that I needed to review this phone case more than two years after buying it.

Es buen protector lo que no me queda claro es por que dice hecho en México, me parece que no es original al menos que la marca tenga la fábrica en México, en otros que compre por este medio dicen hecho en china y se supone los venden aquí en Amazon como original pero aun así me han salido buenos. Espero este tan bien como se ve. Saludos

The only case our teen son has had on his phone and his phone is on perfect condition after 6 yrs!! Very protective. Highly recommend otterbox, especially for new cell phone users. Worth the price for the protection and longevity. He only replaced the case lately(much cheaper now due to being and older model) because it had some peeling around the camera on the back. Otherwise it is in great shape too.

Increíble funda, lo hace un poco más grueso, pero eso si esta protegido como nunca, impresiona de verdad, viene en 2 parte básicamente, una funda normal y luengo un soporte a donde se pone la funda para llevarlo en el cinturón, para el veranito viene bien !! Yo la he pagado 6 euros de segunda mano pero nuevo, a esa precio es una ganga, pero he visto que en promoción vale 24 euros, vale la pena a ese precio.
