Upgrade to a very old USB 2 card reader.Much faster as you'd expect. Nice and compact as it doesn't require a cable. Will also read/write at full speed of class 10 cards.Shame it doesn't have microSD slot, just have to use a size adapter.Still happy with purchase.

I have just recently heard about the UGREEN items and I have purchased some UGREEN Ethernet cable to start with and then I saw this so I just had to buy it.I was gobsmacked when I received it as it was so well made and looks really good.It is a fairly large stick but really well made.Works so good and is really quick at reading my fast memory cards now.I am well chuffed.

Feels well made and transfers are quicker than my previous device. It needs a bit of space when plugging in to the USB port, which could be an issue if you’re short of ports on your computer.

This little guy is neat. Looks very pro and solid. I would happy to pay more for even aluminium version. This reader is made from very good quality plastic. Good purchase.

I have numerous USB 3.0 to connect with my Mac Book Pro, which requires USB-C. The SD Card reader works well and is one part of the solution. A 4 port hub is the other part.

Since i have used Ugreens cables for a while, i thought i would give there SD card reader a try as it read memory stick duo and other cards i have for routers, such as Trans flash.I regret this, as today after a week of use, the reader over heated in my MacBook pro and killed my SD card! I ended up burning myself to get it out, so to try and prevent it.I would like to know if this reader has voltage and current regulators inside it of a sufficient standard. I just got it yesterday. It assigns four drives, one for each type of card that can be used. I wrote to a 128 MB Type II CF card (that we use with a Janome sewing machine). This was on a 64 bit Windows 10 laptop. It worked very well during the first use.I don't know whether, in the future, we will have the dreaded pin bending problem (associated with these type of reader/writers) or not. I plan on inserting the card into the unit gingerly.[A users guide came with it. There is no need for it at all. However, since it was sent, I read it. The font is so small that I had trouble reading it, even with a magnifying glass. I wish that these type of users guides are printed in 8 1/2 X 11 sized paper. I realize that the box for the unit is small. They can fold the normal sized instruction papers.]I am glad that I got this unit.

This card reader (UGREEN SD Card Reader USB 3.0) is a great little/portable card reader, except for the 'easy to use' factor that may not always be true for some people (see below).The card reader is compact and has a removable USB cover/end-cap. The reader is a bit bigger than it might appear in the Amazon item-photos. The reader is a little over one inch wide, wider than most USB flash drives or other USB A devices - and the reader is about 1/2 inch thick.One side of the card reader has Compact Flash and MicroSD card slots, the other side has an SD card slot, and the end of the stick (opposite the USB connector). All slots seemed to be able to be used at once/simultaneously (I currently only use Compact Flash and SD cards).The transfer rates from my Compact Flash/SD cards to a PC via this card reader were very good, I was getting very close to the maximum sustained read speed rating for the cards. (150MB/S).The reason for the 'Easy to use' rating of 4/5 stars is only because of the width of the card reader. When it it plugged in to a laptop, it may block other ports from being used/accessed. It's also possible the width of the card reader will prevent it from being plugged into some devices, because it doesn't fit into the area around the receiving devices USB port - especially when CF or SD cards are being used. A solution for this would be to use a USB A 3.0 extension cable (such as ASIN: B07RSRKDJK). This is what I have done and for me, this actually makes it easier to use the card reader when swapping cards and transferring image files under a time constraint.I bought this card reader as a second card reader to keep in my camera case/bag, in addition to another (different) card reader I keep with my laptop. It's small, and is easy to store (even with a USB 3.0 extension cable)...I recommend this card reader if you are looking for one that is compact and contained, fairly inexpensive, and has fast transfer rates - but check first that you won't have any space/access use on the receiving device you intend to use this card reader on.
