Good quality and effective
Perfect for camping multiple days. Great to start with a big brick of frozen water and easy to refill with ice at campgrounds and hotels that offer ice. I found laying them on their sides allowed them to fit just fine into my smaller cooler and keep food nicely chilled. We treated them gently, but they held up as good as new after three weeks of use.

I had no idea this useful product existed!
We take several road trips each year. Blue Ice packs work during and on the return trip if the hotel has a freezer. But too often that is not the case. One thing all hotels have is an ice machine. I received these just in time for our most recent trip. I did not give the double-duty use of the cold water from the melted ice enough weight. That feature ended up working nicely to fill our stainless steel water bottles at night and allowed me to preserve more bottled water for the drive home. We had leftovers from a restaurant on the last evening. I took a small lunchbox size cooler on this trip. I repackaged the leftovers in ziplocks in the limited space. They were nice and cold from the hotel room refrigerator when I packed them. I could only fill the ice bags about 3/4 full of ice to fit in this small lunch bag with all the food. I placed one ice bag on the bottom and one on top. I did not open the bag on the drive to preserve the temperature inside. It was a tall order for a lunch bag on a 9 hour trip. When I removed the food it felt cold and was immediately placed in the refrigerator. I checked the temperature of the now melted ice bags, it ranged between 49 and 54 degrees. While that is too warm, food can still be safe if only at this temperature for 2 hours. I felt confident that this was the case. We ate the pizza slices, eggplant parmesan sub, and Fettuccine Alfredo the next day and it tasted every bit as good as the first night we enjoyed it! I used these ice bags for five days straight. Each day there was no ice left after about 8 hours but the water was nice and cold. These are well made, sturdy, seal well and I experienced no leaks. This is a great find, a great buy, good quality, good design and solves a recurring problem. I had no idea that there was such a great solution available. I will purchase another set as I typically take a larger cooler on our road trips.

Perfect for international travel
Worked perfectly for the purpose I got it for, but still felt a bit pricey for essentially two thick plastic bags. Purchased it so I could keep wine purchased from cellar doors cool while kept inside an insulated cool bag during holiday travels in the summer. I often move around hotels on a daily basis and needed a method to maintain wine purchased from different cellar doors to be within reasonable temperatures when stored in the car when travelling in the summer heat. This works better than an icepack as hotel fridges rarely get cool enough to cool an icepack (and I might not have 8+ hours to properly freeze an icepack regardless, PLUS it saves luggage space and weight), but most/all hotels I stay at provide free ice cubes. A simple matter of filling up the bag (half full) in the morning and storing it in my Decathlon insulated picnic backpack, and it worked well in keeping my wine chilled throughout the day inside the car where temperatures reached 40C+. Wine remained cool to the touch after a 12 hour day in the heat. After 9 days of consecutive travel, the bag looks obviously worn but no leaks at all. Wished it came in a narrower size with a shorter zip lock mechanism to fit narrower spaces. Lost a star for price.

This product delivers his promised
I have to admit that I was a bit dubious when I purchased these ice bags. I have a tiny freezer that doesn't allow me the room to store ice packs. Living in a sprawling area where shopping may take you five or six different places in or six little towns, I set out to do my shopping and sometimes it's an all-day event and I can't always plan my stops in the order of refrigeration needs. When I saw these online I decided to purchase them with high hopes. I've had them for a few months and just used them for the first time yesterday, hot August afternoon in South Carolina. I was extremely surprised when at the end of my 6-hour day out, having bought my produce on my first stop to put in my cooler, that the ice was still frozen pretty solidly only having melted slightly. The product is very easy to use, it seals very well with no leakage and has a handle for easy carrying. When finished I emptied the bag and set it in my dish drain with the bottom open and it dried within a couple of hours. So I give this product five stars and would recommend it to anybody especially someone has limited freezer space. It's also a good product to have during Hurricane Season should you have to pack a cooler to evacuate. As the ice melts you have fresh water to drink, a win-win for that purpose. One bag held an entire tray of ice from my ice maker. If someone had the room in another freezer it would be a good idea to put ice in these and keep them Frozen for emergency use.

No leaking
I bought these ice bags for a 2 week road trip. They were amazing! We would fill them up when we left the hotel in the morning. Our food stayed cold and dry all day. Once the ice melted, we poured the water into our water bottles (there is a convenient spout on the side). We would fill the bag again, and start all over. They never leaked, the convenient closure clips make them easy to carry, and the side spout can be opened to squeeze out extra air. Definitely a worthwhile investment.

Works great!!
We stayed at a beach hotel that had only a mini fridge in the room. We usually have freeze packs for our cooler but without a way to freeze them each night, we needed an alternative. Got these packs to bring with us because the hotel had an ice machine. Now they donโt stay as cold as long like a freeze pack, BUT they work great regardless! With the right cooler these packs will last about 4-6 hours before fully melting. Also, I experienced no leaking from these packs. I would definitely recommend these as an alternative to a freeze pack if needed.

More like leak resistant โฆ
Bottom line: - Not leakproof, more like leak resistant. The bags need to be completely flat with handle totally undisturbed to prevent leaking. So for a tightly packed cooler or fridge, expect minor leaks. Pros: 1) Less water in the cooler or fridge and thus less hassle with after-melt cleanup; 2) water conservation: enables drinking or cooking with the melt water; 3) bag handles facilitate transport of ice, about 5 lbs ice per bag; and 4) durable plastic suggests it should last several trips. Cons: 1) Water has a very high specific heat which means it stabilizes temperatures very well; so the absence of melt water throughout the cooler means more temperature variation among its contents; (2) the bags do leak despite carefully following the instructions (fold and slide handle in one direction, do not fill ice above fill line, etc. So a more accurate description IMHO is โleak resistantโ versus โleakproofโ in real-world conditions (I.e., tightly packed cooler); 3) the rigid handles limit the bagโs ability to conform in tight spaces. For example, when filled with its maximum of 5 lbs of ice, this bag did not fit inside a Yeti 45 cooler. Minor quibble. We received two versions. One had clearly printed instructions on the handle and bag, the other two did not. Adding those instructions was a good product design upgrade, as it ensured optimum leak resistance. Thoughts. These probably work better in traditional larger rectangular coolers like the venerable Igloo brand. For highly perishable items, Iโm thinking the trade off between convenience (melt water capture) may come at the expense of faster spoilage, especially on a multi-day trip. Where these bags did come in handy was packing our marine refrigerator on a 4-day trip. Four bags reduced compressor cycling and thus conserved batteries between charging. And not having lots of melt water in the refrigerator is a huge plus. That said, some of the bags did leak, some more than others, but not more than 5-10% of its capacity. Capturing the melt water was a plus too, which we used for washing dishes, flushing the marine toilet, etc. Our marine fridge has a drain and manual foot pump to remove the little water that did accumulate so leakage was not a huge issue. Bottom line. These bags did not work as intended for our Yeti 45, but we did find use for our marine refrigerator (reduced cycling, conserve batteries). Had I not found a use for them in our marine fridge, I would have returned them for refund.

Lifesaver on summer road trips. Fill them with ice, have super tasty water tomorrow. Repeat.
Love these. Theyโve become our lifesaver on summer road trips. Fill them with ice, have super tasty water tomorrow. Repeat. So much better than hotel water + nice and cold on hot days. Never had a leak, plastic thickness has been fine. We had one that got a hole after it creased and we froze it with water and overstuffed the ice chest. Definitely user error. And one cap broke when it fell off a table onto a stone floor; any plastic would have broken. Basically, treat them responsibly and theyโll do you right. Filling from hotel ice or ice bags has been super easy, and having a handle to hold them is clutch. The size is good for us: bigger and they wouldnโt fit where we want them to go. Smaller and they wouldnโt hold enough ice. We havenโt had good luck with freezing them. But for filling with ice, they are amazing.

A must have for coolers
Total game changer for coolers. I was tired of having soup in the bottom of our cooler while camping for the weekend. Bought these hoping they were half as good as advertised and was delighted to find out they are even better than expected. They are incredibly easy to use, keep the cooler nice and dry (aside from minor condensation which is unavoidable), and are more environmentally friendly than single use ice bags. They seem durable and well made. Iโve already recommended them to friends. We have an Igloo cooler from costco and I bought 4 bags, which is perfect for the size. They stayed partially frozen for 3 days and we still had cold drinks on the third day. Very impressed.

Great alternative to buying bags of ice or using ice packs.
I really like this product. Easy to use, sturdy materials. My cooler is a 64 quart size - using a few ice packs in the bottom and laying the bags on the top, kept our food cool, with no water leaks.

Work pretty good
Use them for camping this summer. Kept the ice longer in the cooler and didn't get things wet. Would have given more stars if they weren't so hard to close and open.
