Review: Awesome Book!!! - This is a great book for beginners, and novices, who love and/or are interested in using essential oils. The book discusses the following: -aromatherapy, -how to use essential oils, -why to use essential oils, and -beneifts of essential oils. After reading the chapters on the above, you'll find yourself amazed and ready to play a mixtress given the 89 essential oil recipes. They are not all comprised of using esential oils only. Some require honey, carrier oils, sea salt, and more. My only peeve about the book is that there's no direct link to the chapters and so to go back to a favorite recipe, you have to make notes and/or remember the location and scroll accordingly. If you don't want to repeatedly come back to the book as a reference, I suggest you jot down your faves so that you can obtain the ingredients expeditiously. As of the date that I started to read the book, I was already a firm believer in using essential oils. In fact, as I write this review, I'm using an essential oil diffuser necklace as I am suffering from a headache. Anywho, even though I already use essential oils, I found this book rather useful and plan to keep it on my tablet. There are a lot of great recipes and some truly useful information. It was a quick and easy read and I enjoyed persuing through recipes. My favorite recipes, in no particular order, are: -Lavendar with Peppermint Skin Mist -Chocoaphro Loved Blend -Almond and Vanilla Foot Scrub -Fatigue Relief Body Mist Awesome ebook. Totally worth it!! Of note, I was sent this ebook at a discounted rate in exchange for my honest opinion. Review: Informative, easy to read, and has recipes. This is a wonderful guide for beginners and maybe experienced too. - What a great beginners guide for anyone who want to learn and use essential oils. Alexa Moore has written a easy to read and understand book that allows the reader to learn about the different oils, how to use them, what they can be used for, and recipes with applications for the oils. This book is informative and so very helpful. I have been using oils for a while and found some oils listed in here I did not even here about yet so I found some new oils I want to try and new ways to use my essential oils. A great find and would make a nice gift to someone you know who is starting to use essential oils. This book also covers so many uses from looking and feeling younger, insomnia, stress, and even illness. It is a wonderful guide and the included 89 recipes with directions for application and use with each recipe I feel you cannot go wrong. The best part if the book does not suit you it is covered by a 100% money back guarantee. The digital download even has a link to take you to a nice website to purchase oils. I really enjoyed this book and Alexa Moore is very good explaining the oils and their uses. My only problem and why I removed a star as I wish there was some listings to show where this information came from or the author's credentials regarding teaching about essential oils. So I read it with having to fact check it myself as I do with all my guides like this without the author's credentials listed. **I was provided a copy of this book for free to read for a honest, unbiased review. It's Ok, but needs work
I have used essential oils for many months now, but have a lot to learn yet, so I am always eager to check out books that help me gain knowledge about these oils as well as recipes for making my own blends. Alexa Moore has written such a book, geared directly toward beginners. This is an e-book currently. Moore has clearly spent some time in writing this book. It is filled with recipes which break down the oils and ingredients needed, the instructions for mixing and the desired results it should produces or ailments it will address. Unfortunately, many of them require oils I have not yet heard of or had opportunity to obtain, which makes me think it may not be such a good book for true beginners. Nonetheless, they are very thorough and easily followed. The book starts out with a break down of aromatherapy and talks about why oils can be helpful. It also addresses how and why to use essential oils. This information was helpful and easily followed. Some unfortunate things that took away from the positives of the book for me: - I found many spelling or grammar errors that were distracting to me and made the book less authoritative for me. - In addition, I also dislike that the final pages of the book link to oils sold on Amazon, but the links did not work. - Also, I noted that the author either sells or has a strong affinity to Doterra Oils, as the company name showed up in the book. As a beginner, I don't want to be sold on the different companies or drawn into multi-level marketing, I just want the basics, the hows and whys. Sadly, I can't say this was one of my favorite essential oil books so far. It was OK, but just that. * I received a copy of this e-book in exchange for my honest and un-biased review.

Great Beginning Guide to the World of Essential Oils!
Being new to essential oils, I have been hoping to stumble upon a guide where I could find all the information I needed in regards to the dos and don'ts of essential oils. On a whim, I started using peppermint oil to relieve my sinus issues and couldn't believe the huge impact using peppermint oil in a diffuser actually made. After experiencing that situation, I wanted to learn more, but finding information is kind of hard. You really get a slew of information that is very overwhelming when you start researching essential oils online. I couldn't find an easy concise guide on what each oil did and what it could be used for. Or exactly how to execute the oils to experience the maximum benefits. This guide is exactly what I was looking for. Written in an easy to understand way with font that is easily readable. Several ailments including poor digestion and respiratory issues, are laid out in this book with different essential oils that will help. I actually didn't know that you could ingest the oils in water or milk (which sounds gross but if it works. . ). Really, a lot of information in one handy guide. At the end of the book is a collection of different recipes as well. A great handy guide for newbies like me to the essential oil world! I received this book in exchange for a review. No further compensation was received. This review and all other reviews were completed with 100% honesty, in my own words, and reflect any positive and or negative experiences I had while using and reviewing the product. I only review products I have a general interest in. Thanks for reading and have a wonderful day!

There is no evidence to support the claims in this book
As a distributor for a essential oil company, we are told time and time again that the FDA is very serious about making medical claims for essential oils and this book breaks just about every rule that we've been told to keep. There is mention the essential oils cure conditions, and while this may be true, it's a no-no to say things like that in the United States without studies and facts supporting that statement. There are many times that the book speaks of things as FACT with absolutely nothing support said fact. No evidence to support your claims is going to not only turn people off to the benefits of essential oils, but it's going to get the author in trouble with the FDA. One statement was "The body always requires essential oils." Since most people live their whole lives without ever using essential oils, this statement is ridiculous. The funny thing is that in another part of the book the author states that "Essential Oils are highly dangerous to use in general." How can something be safe and have no side effects and be highly dangerous at the same time? There is no mention that some essential oils should never be used with certain conditions (i.e. rosemary with seizure disorder or grapefruit with certain medications can kill you). Not all essential oils are created the same. Not all are safe for ingestion. Not all of them are therapeutic. The author is assuming that all oils are created equal, and they are not. No mention of reading labels, (100% natural, 100% essential oil, fragrance oils, etc.), or that cheaper does not mean quality. There's no mention of appropriate dilution. Some oils are "hot" and can burn the skin if used without being diluted in a quality carrier oil. All in all, the author wrote a book about essential oils with very few facts to support them. While the recipes may actually be good, the rest of the book should be taken with a grain of salt. Do your research before using essential oils and invest in good, quality oils through someone who knows about them. A well thought out book, that is FDA compliant and without false claims is found in Essential Oils Pocket Reference I'm a product review blogger and I received this product in exchange for an honest review.

Beginner read, really informative
Some people are saying that this book is just everything you can google, but aren't most books? If you think about it, yeah you can google everything but why would you want to when it's all compacted into a book for you. I like how this book begins by explaining what aromatherapy is, what essential oils are, where they come from, and the different ways you can use them. It then goes on to tell you specifically about each oil and what the benefit of that specific one is. At the end it gives you many recipes for different essential oils for many different health benefits. I really like how many they give you. It's almost like you can find a recipie for any need. The only con I can see if that there are a few spelling and grammar mistakes. Overall I think it's a great read along with a reference guide for anyone who enjoys or wants to begin enjoying essential oils. *i received this product at a free or discounted rate in exchange for an honest and unbiased review

helpful guide for beginners and intermediate users of essential oils.
I received this e-book in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own. Living with chronic pain, I've been using essential oils for quite awhile to help with my pain. This books is a very good guide for those starting out to learn about oils, but it's also full of information for those already using oils. It provided me with a few pieces of information I didn't know and I made sure to bookmark the recipes I think I may find useful. The author also mentions several oils which I may have to try out in the future to help with my pain. I'm always looking for new things to help, so I'm grateful she provided a few new suggestions. I feel like this book could have been much longer with a lot more information, but it's still a good basic book. I did try one of the headache mixture recipes with a few adjustments just because I didn't have all of the oils mentioned. I also added a few oils which I know are good for headache pain. Unfortunately I haven't tried other recipes because she does use quite a few oils which I don't have so I would have to substitute a few things or leave them out all together. The only thing I'm iffy on with this book is the mention of using oils in food. It was my understanding you must use food grade oils, and I don't feel the author emphasized this enough. She does mention the danger of using oils, but this could be very dangerous if someone new to oils chose to use the wrong oils in their food!

Not sure if I can recommend this book unless the author revises and the price goes to .99
I had high hopes for this book which were strangely dampened by simple things the author can improve on in the next addition. I did appreciate the recipes but I was looking for more - there are a lot of recipes which are simply mixtures of essential oils. I received this book for free for an honest review and here is my honest experience. Pros and Cons: Pros: A good bunch of recipes I tried some recipes which were nice (rose absolute + vodka =perfume spray) Nice combos of EOs At one point the author gets a voice and personality through the writing I learned a couple things about some oils' effects on attitude and emotional state Cons: Terrible spelling, grammar and format Confusing placement of information Left out some prime EOs Reads like slapped together content writing, not thoughtful at all Unsafe and contradictory info in the beginning ( <--- this is why it got 2 stars - how can I trust any of the recipes if the foundation of safety is in question? This would make a beginner wonder what the heck they are doing) Author says emphatically that there are no side effects Says don't ingest than ingest - no explanation of why one should or should not do either Nothing to back up any information (I would have accepted anecdotes or personal experience too) Generalized info following recipes - i.e. a lot of "use this for stress" Not much explanation Hard to believe there is much real experience with EOs here... I cannot recommend this book in its current state or price. If I had purchased this for 2.95 I would have been pretty disappointed.

Great introduction to oils, but take the warnings seriously please!
This is a nice intro to Essential Oils and the many 'health' uses that they are purported to have. Whether you agree with those uses or not, the author lays it out in a good, clear manner that anyone would be able to understand. By far my favourite part of this book is the long list of recipes for homemade items or treatments using the oils listed in the book. She also gives a good rundown of the different ways in which you can use essential oils, for example by rubbing on the skin, inhaling or using with a humidifier. I loved the tip she gave for making non-water based oils able to be used with a humidifier. My only con for this book is I wish she had made the dangers of these oils clearer. While she does mention to make sure to dilute them before applying to the skin, I wish she'd made the dangers a little more bold as you can be burnt quite badly by misusing oils. Perhaps a warning section could be a good addition. I was pleased to see that this book was a good length for the price, instead of being overly short, which some e-books can suffer from. Overall, a great intro to anyone curious about the supposed benefits of essential oils. However, even for those who are less into the health related angle, the recipes within are certain to be useful! ---------------------------------- Note: I received this product at a discounted rate in exchange for an unbiased, honest review as provided here. As a consumer advocate, I believe in providing quality and honest feedback and receiving a product at a discounted rate will never affect my opinions.
