With his tried and tested tips and concise information , the author appears to be striving to deliver his message that it is not so difficult to keep Discus, even in hard and alkaline tap water, though I'm sure that mixing with some r.o.or deionized water will most probably improve their well-being and breeding. I think that overall this is a good entry-level eBook on one of the best-known aquarium fishes in which I particularly liked the chapters on quarantine(and biosecurity) and breeding. In my modest opinion, the topics on health and water quality could have been explained in more detail, but this is maybe nit picking considering the affordable price.

Very, very basic.
Very basic. You can find anything that is in this book in a google search in two minutes. Not many pages, and they are large font. Looks like it was typed up in a few minutes in Word and bound in a book.

I must admit, before getting my discus, I read almost everything I could find online about discus. This book was highly recommended so I bought it. I was looking for something amazing. I think my online reading covered most of what was in this book. If you want only the easy to get facts, this is your book. I was a bit shocked of what I got for the price though. I was expecting a much larger book for the price, but it's only about 1/8 of an inch thick. The pages aren't even numbered. If you google "discus" you will read a lot more and not spend anything.
