DEWALT514011217 Switch Kit

Better than the broken handle, slightly smaller than the original but very functional & keeps my 25 + year old saw / sawing all day long, delivery was great; absolutely more Thai expected after reading a few reviews, but mine was a great fit with wiring instructions ( switch wired differently than the original but followed the provided wiring diagram!! Saw runs & that's what I needed!!

I just finished installing this handle after the original switch went out and there is not a replacement for it. The installation was fairly easy, although it did take about 1 hour. As said in previous reviews, SAVE YOUR OLD SCREWS! The handle comes with 5 screws. Not sure why only 5 as the handle itself required 8 to screw it together. You will need two different size Torx screw tips.The switch wiring is a different from the original, but the instructions are clear enough. Do not screw the new switch in (you don't have a screw that fits anyway). It is held in by one of the screws that holds the handle halves together.As others have mentioned, the handle is a bit smaller. I have large hands and don't have an issue.

Depending on what year/model your saw it, other handles may not fit correctly, or wont’ come with the switch, etc. This one has the correct bolt pattern and works great.My original handle disintegrated so I needed a replacement… I tried 3 other options, but none of them fit… this one did. This handle is smaller than the original with a smaller switch, but all the bolt holes line up perfectly. You will want to read the directions to determine what pieces you may still need or not need. Also, you will need to take your time with the wires, as you may need to shorten a few of them so they fit without having to cram them in-between the handle (top & bottom). Once installed, it works great. The “carry” part of the handle does not come with the necessary screws/bolts to attach, so keep your old ones… in fact, the new handle only comes with 4 bolts/screws, so KEEP YOUR OLD SCREWS/BOLTS. I would also suggest taking a picture of the old configuration (where the wires attach to the switch, how they snake through the handle and where the screws go) prior to disassembling.

Handle quit working on our DeWalt 20-year-old chop saw and found this part here and other places. It was very difficult to install, as per the comments here, but since DeWalt no longer makes/sells the original handle, this is it. The part sold on eBay is not OEM but most likely this part. Yes, you need to pay close attention to the instructions and figure a few things out yourself. In addition, you must ream out more space to make room for some of the wiring. Not fun, but at least the shop saw is good for another 20 years!

The only bad part is why did DEWALT stop manufacturing the old part so now you have to buy this whole assembly to get it back working, so instead of $20 you pay $60+ to get it repaired

Perfect replacement on an older DeWalt miter saw. Be sure to hang onto all the screws as they may come in handy!
