Full of Practical Advice
I really enjoyed this book for it's practical, common sense approach and ease of reading. Ross Tomkins takes a holistic approach to looking at running a business in the health care industry. I especially like how he looks at the health of the businessman / woman and how our mindset can influence the practice we are working on. I've set an alert to re-read this in a couple of months!

A page turner that will fully equip the learner
I thoroughly enjoyed reading 'The Business of Health' book. What originally started out as a plan to read 50 pages per day over a 3 days of grazing, turned into me devouring the whole book within one day and evening. It is easy to swallow, well structured, and written in a relatable style which effortlessly draws you in.Ross gives lots of examples which illustrate his ideas perfectly. In addition to this, within each chapter he suggests actionable steps which will improve your being, your thinking and your doing.I read this book after a tough ,tiring week , and it was just the tonic to encourage me to check in with myself, implement the content into my life and my business, and remind myself how privileged we are to live in an age where so much potential can be realised.Thank you Ross! I will be going back for many more sittings, and using your book for healthy snacking for months and years to come.Marcus Nelson, The Mind & Body Coach

A must Read
This book represents the common sense values and forward thinking perspective of a physio or health care professional in building their practice. The sections highlight and reflect the importance and the variance of communication available to us as therapists, whether that be with clients or colleagues in the work place.Hard work, passion, and drive are all essential traits required to succeed in business and shine through in Ross’s early journey, but all work and no play doesn’t make for a happy or sustainable existence and the book clearly demonstrates the requirement for delegation and colleagues with the same ethos within your practice to develop and be successful. An inspirational read to those starting their journey in business and a reflective read with poignant reminders and values to those already establishedA must read.

Relevant to anyone wanting to build a therapy business
What I love about this book is that not only are the topics totally relevant, it contains practical advice and appears to have been written from the heart. Tompkins is not afraid to cover ‘soft skills’ such as building rapport. Indeed, he argues that it is the non-medical skills that are essential to delivering a successful therapy business. There was clearly a gap in the market for a book like this and it is refreshing to find one that is easy to read without being flippant. It’s the sort of book you can dip into and wherever you are, pick up a useful tip. Highly recommended.

Interesting and informative
This book came at just the right time for me as I hesitantly started my own business as a Physiotherapist working as a sole trader. It is easy to read, interesting and informative. It reassured me in many ways and also made me think about some of the non-clinical aspects of running a business that I had t considered before. Highly recommended!
