its going to work out for me
I really dont care if it only lasts a year. Who cares? For the price I can buy a new one every year. I realize it is not a fantastic gourmet kitchen appliance. I already have those with many drawbacks.I have the DeLonghi which gives a fantastic performance. heats up so quickly, sears and cooks steak to perfection in no time at all. However I dont have a large family anymore. There are no options to just heat up one side of the grill for a grilled cheese or one burger which is a big deal to me because it turns my kitchen into an inferno for days. Way too much heat for a burger. Fine for chateaubriand.I have a Ronco Rotisserie. great performance but bulky, takes up a lot of real estate and also the heat problem.I have the Todd English ceramic grill. It is lightweight but also to cook one item you have to heat up the whole grill and deal with the heat.I see many complaints about drip pans. I hardly ever empty or clean my drip pans. What the devil are people putting on these indoor grills that they need gigantic drip pans?I have a George Forman indoor / outdoor. It takes forever to get hot and forever to cook. Not a fan. This one allows me to cook two steaks on one side of the grill and not have the entire grill blazing. I got nice grill marks.I have found that grills are mostly good and cook really well. What I have also found is they may be very good but they can be really hard to live with because of the heat, the bulk and the maintenance. I no longer use the DeLonghi, the best, because it is so difficult to clean. Too much. The TE was looking good for a while but even with ceramic cleaner and special sponges, its not coming clean anymore and I can't stand it.I was looking to the HB Searing grill but sacrificed the sear for the easier cleanup and just grilled two big fat boneless chicken breasts on one side that were done in no time at all, crispy on the outside and juicy inside. The Winner and New Champion.....Don't overlook Hamilton Beach for sexier brands. This does not turn my house into an inferno. Are the clips a little tricky? Yes. But the plates are really nice and pop right into the dishwasher. For under $50, this is a no brainer. I also have the HB pannini grill which I highly recommend. It is smaller and really gets smokin' hot.

We love ours!
We are thrilled with this skillet. We live in a condo so space is always a concern. This unit fits nicely on a shelf on our porch and it is big enough to cook all we want. It's easy to clean and works well once you get used to it.

Good griddle. Easy to use
This griddle is great. We love the option to have a flat side and a grill side. Figuring out how to get the Tops in it was a bit of a challenge. But once we figured it out, we were able to swap them out easily. The griddle is fairly light and cooks well. Our only dislike in this is that it does not have an able option to drain the grease into the drip tray. When making bacon the grease built up a ton before it started to drain a little.

perfect for eggs or steak, easy to clean, great for "grilling" in a NYC apartment
We purchased this item because the gas line to our apartment broke, and we have no stove. Something as simple as eggs for breakfast was almost impossible using a pan on the hot plate, but this does eggs perfectly and can easily fit five eggs plus five whites (or probably could fit eight regular eggs.) We are both athletes and my boyfriend jokingly refers to his breakfast as "the Gaston," plus we live in downtown Manhattan, so it is really helpful that the square surface allows you to do more eggs in the same amount of counter-space, and you can still get the spatula under the edge nicely. Our former method, a 12" pan, couldn't fit all the eggs and we'd have to do his and mine one after another, or dirty two pans on two burners. The grill plates pop right out to wash, and the square shape takes up less space in the sink and drying rack than said pan. It fits in a row just like a plate. It probably seems stupid that I'm so excited about a grill, but when you live in a shoebox, weight train, and do circus acrobatics for a living, it's really a large part of your life trying to shove enough protein in your face (god knows we can't afford to eat out after paying rent) and still have room to turn around in your overpriced shoebox. Both sides are reversible for grill (ridges) or griddle (flat) so steak, chicken, pork chops, kebabs, etc: all a thing in our lives once more! I missed having an outdoor grill back in the day and god knows "grilling" in a pan on a hot plate is a no-go. We even "grilled" for his birthday party last weekend on this little guy, and put out enough steak, burgers, sausages, eggplant, zuchinni for 30 people. In our tiny freaking apartment. All the other New Yorkers who picture summer bbqs as something that requires going home to another state where people have things called "backyards" were blown away. I think I'm going to try to figure out how to do s'mores on this next time. It's so useful that even though the landlord is replacing our stove, we're going to keep it. We still have no place for an outdoor grill, and buying a cast-iron griddle/grill to put on top of an electric stove is silly and wouldn't heat as quickly, plus those bastards are way more annoying to wash. I cannot over-emphasize: this appliance is so useful we're going to give it dedicated counter/cabinet space in *addition* to a working stove in a 500 sq foot apartment.Totally, ridiculously happy with this purchase.

Absolutely no regrets and brag about it!
My best purchase ever!!! It’s everything I need, grill, griddle, plus easy to clean, portable! I use it 4-5 times a week. It holds 8+ Bubba burgers at a time. I definitely don’t need to spend $300 for a gas griddle.

Not worth price
Decent griddle but not worth price. Pretty small, and cooks uneven. The plates come off easy and are easy to wash unless doing burgers which stick. The numbers/lines on the knobs fade off so I just had to guess where the temp was.

Love how great this works
Works better than it stated. Love having a place big enough for me to make my family pancake to steaks... The only problem is my husband cannot see the temp gage due to it being so little and blends in with the dial. Cooking time is cut in half because I can cook multiple things at once. Easy to clean
