Our dog would bark once, briefly, at the mailman, UPS driver, dog walkers, etc; however, after a week or two it no longer was effective. His barking is back to being just as bothersome as before. I did follow the instructions and used the test button as directed, so I can only assume it is functioning properly - but our dog has grown accustomed/developed a tolerance to the ultrasound.
