SMPCM9 Replacement Battery for DVW32XX Series

It worked great- until TimeWarnerCable came out (it was used for my Telephony Modem provided by them- no lease charge) and "adjusted" their modem. They broke off the edge of the battery/contact area when attempting to re-insert it back into the modem. There is a definite 'snap' sound when inserting it fully, well, I made them aware if this, but when I heard the correct 'snap', the installer was not satisfied and continued to FORCE the battery- as I was cautioning him it was already in place- until there was a much louder 'breaking-snap' sound. When removing the battery after that, it was quite clear that the area around the battery contacts had broken off. THEY WOULD NOT LET ME KEEP THE DAMAGED BATTERY as if they bought it (they DO NOT supply backup batteries). So, I am now battery-less thanks to TWC. I just couldn't afford to get a second one at my own cost.While I had it, however, it DID work fine, I could monitor the % charge via the modem interface, and even had power during a local power outage and made calls. Note that it will not work (makes sense) if the outage is on THEIR end, as there is no Internet available. But if THEIR end is up and running, and you're in a local outage, this battery will do the job. I miss knowing I will have that backup power and paid for it on my own, only for them to break it.

The description claims that it fits the DVW32XX series, which is misleading, as it does not fit the DVW32CB at all. The battery size required is more square, rather than rectangular as this one is.

I purchased this battery because my cable company no longer provides it to phone modems. The battery arrived right away and was easy to install. I unplugged my modem and the phone worked. I have not had a power failure yet so I don't know how long it would function in an actual emergency. I have been given varying estimates from employees of my cable company.
