I'm a Bulldozer (Little Golden Book)

Love, Love, Love this book!!! We read it with a lot of character making it come alive. I've purchased this book several times and this last purchase I read the book to my great nephew's mom to show her how we enjoy it with making the most of the great dialog; 'Pushy? You betcha I'm pushy!' ('cause he's a bulldozer!!). Highly recommend this fun book that I have read over 100 times by now!!

Classic book for young children. Vivid illustrations and good story telling. Not much more to add.

I bought this book for my six-year-old son for two very good reasons: 1. We have the misfortune of living at the top of the street where a one-year road construction project has been going on for over three years; and 2. Bob Staake's illustrations. For over half of my little boy's life, we been driving past road construction vehicles, sometimes standard yellow, sometimes shockingly pink -- most of them just parked along the side of the road -- just to get from our stretch of road to another. He has learned the names of all of them, especially the bulldozer. Dennis Shealy did include some uses of the bulldozer that didn't include construction, so that made the book especially interesting. A few months after the construction began, my son discovered books illustrated or written and illustrated by Bob Staake. Staake quickly became my son's favorite illustrator. After almost three years, my son is a connoisseur of Staake's work and would know it anywhere. And he always says it's "beautiful". And my son is right.

I am a bulldozer is a inspirational tale filled with colorful delight. My child now has big dreams of being a bulldozer when he grows up.

My 3 year old like the book, but as the person who primarily does the actual reading, I'm not a fan. It's just not an enjoyable book for me to read. I dread when this book is picked. I know I'm not the target audience, but there are many books my child and I can both enjoy. Four stars because he likes it, but I'm knocking one off because I don't.

Like all Golden Books the text is simple and clear, with friendly illustrations. The illustrations in I'm a Bulldozer are definitely geared towards little boys and the book, is full of facts about what bulldozers do, presented in a clear and interesting format. My three year old loves this book. While the tone of the bulldozer in the very beginning of the book isn't one I care for it also isn't a tone that there is truly anything wrong with, and is very relatable to little boys, and it is only that first page. Just a heads up to other moms who might be a bit put off by that as well. All in all wonderful addition to a little boys library.

He is very much into construction vehicles and this is age appropriate for him at 3 1/2

This Little Golden Book is a fun and engaging read for kids who love big machines! I'm a Bulldozer has bright, colorful illustrations and simple, rhythmic text that makes it perfect for bedtime or storytime. It’s great for little construction fans and teaches a bit about teamwork and hard work in an easy-to-understand way. A must-have for any toddler’s book collection!

Our Grandson asks to have this book read every day. He also points out the books on the back that should be purchased.

Great easy book for a toddler who enjoys bulldozers to look at and read. Lovely story.

My son loves all the construction vehicles so it was wonderful to find a book that featured one of his favourites. So fun to read too!!!
