Awesome litter box!
This is an amazing litter box! Just what I was looking for. I was sick of scraping and digging clumps of gross clay up and hauling in 40 pounds around the store pretty often.Positives:+The box is huge, first of all. I didn't get the extra high sides and was worried but there was no need. This thing is big!+The urinal doesn't spill and has not gotten on the floor. With 5 cats I do empty it every day (dump it down the toilet not sink as cat urine crystalizes and it will mess up your pipes). I could go two days, potentially even three but I wouldn't risk it. Sometimes they pee more or less so I don't want to be caught off guard.+Very sturdy. This is made of really good plastic.+The urinal is easy to dump and the spout aims it perfectly every time.+I don't have 10 pound bags of litter in my garbage can every other day... I have so little waste now. I am not huffing an puffing a grossed out and worried the bag will tear before I get to the garbage can outside.+My cats are having less accidents. They only had accidents when I was hunting down the new pellets and a couple didn't want to use it without anything in there+Only one cat had an issue transitioning. I left the old litter box in there empty and she would poo in it and then a few days later just pee and now she is just using the new box.+If you use the clay pellets.. they are heavy and tend to stay in the box better instead of sticking to feet.+I would think for fuzzy bottomed cats this would be great since no clay to stick to their feeet. A friend of mines cat always has clay stuck to his back feet and bum and she has to brush it out of him every night.Downsides:- I just don't like natural litter. It did escape and I am not quick to clean. It was just linoleum and flies got into and maggots. This is why I gave up wheat litter. it dumped into the carpet and got under the desk and grew maggots. Super gross. I must have a humid house. I have since torn all my carpet out but they peed on some escaped seeds and yuck. I am now using the Breeze clay pellets. They were $20 and wish I could find them somewhere cheaper! even though it should last a few months which is still cheaper than clay.-The seeds did get wet... Not all but a small portion did so eventually they would have to be replaced.. though they were gone before that happened due to routine cleaning of the poos. I DO like the idea of the seeds and they must be cheap and more environmental.-The smell is bad :( This is really my only issue. Clay traps the smell in and has weird chemical properties to make it smell better (but dusty). I can tell people are wrinkling their nose when they go by despite cleaning it every night (it's in a laundry room but the door has a grate on it). I do need to find a solution for this.I do have the Breeze system and it's disgusting to pull the pee pad out. I mean... you're touching pee unless you invest in gloves. You have to buy the pad every week. It bulks up your garbage. the box is half the size.I will be buying more of these boxes in the future and hope they keep offering them! I would like a bigger reservoir or maybe a hose system to hook it onto the toilet and you'd never need to clean the urine out at all! but I also have mare cats than most and most people aren't as busy as I am cleaning lol. For one or two cats... you'd only need to clean this probably once a week (If it was in a place where no one sniffed though). This is an awesome box!

Looks nice, neat and is durable but my super fussy ...
Was packed well. Looks nice, neat and is durable but my super fussy, older cats only used it 4 times. They just prefer the messy, regular cat litter. If I had a young cat, I would train him to use this type of catbox.

So far, so good
Update: when I did use this to provide a urine sample, it was contaminated by stool and blood (the cat ultimately died), so I can't say how useful it was as a urine collector. However, I have given it up for another reason. The seeds went everywhere and for our son who vacuums they were more difficult to deal with than ordinary litter. Our new cat seems to really enjoy using her litter box liner (Nature's Miracle) as a scratching post as well. But I would still try to use it for its original purpose as needed.Original review:Our 6.5 lb cat switched cold turkey, no problem. Now my only problem is what to do with a bag and a half of litter... for context, we have been using corn litter. Our cat is a new adoptee, the vet wanted her to have a urinalysis, and from what I read of the beads the vet would have sold us, she might not have liked them. The collection process also sounded cumbersome. When I read the description of this product, I thought, why not buy something that permits ongoing urine monitoring, assuming she needs that either now (she had some abnormal blood work and may have CRF) or later? Also, she's been drinking and urinating what seems like a lot, but our last cat evidently had cancer when we adopted her, so I might be off in my comparison. Collecting all the urine in a reservoir will enable me to see what the volume really is, to talk intelligently w/ the vet.I have noticed that a few seeds end up in the reservoir each time I empty it, and the initial fill used up most of the bag it came with, so I suspect I'll be buying another $4 + shipping seed bag soon, or sourcing them locally. Still, I'll come out ahead on litter cost and definitely on labor. My back appreciates not having to bend/scoop more than a couple of seconds any more. I am also happy not to have to shake out piles of litter from a mat.

Game changer
This is an absolute must for a diabetic cat!I was spending about $60 a month on cat litter. It would constantly be saturated by my diabetic kitty, causing me to throw out about a quarter of the litter daily. A traditional litter box became an issue with the waste, mess, overall cost and inconvenience involved. I started searching for alternatives and came across this gem! If you are like me and tend to your litter box daily this is perfect for any cat! I just have to empty the urine container daily and scoop the waste. This uses olive pits as βlitterβ that can be rinsed or sprayed with a little bleach water as needed. I imagine weekly, i will spray the olive seeds off completely and allow to air dry.I am not sure this would be ideal with a multicat household as the urine container only holds a small amount (about 16oz). Or if you are the type of person that goes days without tending to the litter box this may not be the best option. But it does work well for my two cats and daily maintenance (less than 5 min a day)Overall, this product is so much cleaner and cost effective than a traditional litter box. No more clay, clumping, heavy, dusty litter! Itβs worth the couple of olive seeds that get dropped on the floor near the box (as read about in other reviews). 5 stars all the way!πππππ
