Convenience Concepts Northfield Entryway Hall Console Table/Desk

Solid deal for a narrow desk. I needed something to put my vintage HiFi system on. A Minidisc/CD player with some Edifier speakers. Was easy to put together and seems like it should last a good long time. I give it 5 stars as I feel the quality punches well above it's price. It looks really nice and he instructions made sense. The surfaces have a nice texture to them as well. I don't think anyone would see this and think I only paid about $50 USD for it. That said it's not perfect. Not going to knock any stars though, again because of the price. A few minor complaints below, but only minor and not worthy of knocking a star off this review. I stood on the top plank for a moment when I had it upside down and was attaching the legs. Under my weight it made a crack sound. No visible damage. It's made out of what looks like pressed plywood remnant. It's... fine but not going to be super strong. It is NOT made of particle board or MDF thank goodness. I had little bits of foam all over the floor after I was done putting it together. The squares of foam are rather soft. That said they did the job of protecting the desk in it's box. Finally DON'T EVER SIT ON THIS! I didn't because it was obvious to me that it could not support my weight. I think it would crack in half. Use it for it's intended purpose and you should get many years out of it.

Bought it along with the storage bookcase to replace an old entertaining center and very happy with the result. Love the color and the light weight. The assembly is not difficult once you understand how the hardware works (watch youtube video if you are new to it). There are some minor scratches on the outside, but since it's not easy to find such a replacement with the right color, style and size, I still give it an overall 5-star rating.

Based on the price and some of the reviews, I was concerned about the condition of the table and that all the pieces would be there. It was packed really well, with hard cardboard corners on the box. There was a small hole on one of the long sides, but no problems inside. All 5 pieces were in perfect condition. The color, black, was exactly as I expected. We have a brushed finish black TV stand and this complements it with the color and texture. It was very easy to put together (I did it myself - 70 yo women for reference!) and took me no more than 30 minutes. We just had our family room redone, and we wanted a table for the cats to look out the window. I did not want to spend a lot of money for the cats and this fits the bill. I would have paid extra if there was a drawer, but I am very happy with this product. It's sturdy for what we want. Definitely recommend, in the black color, anyway.

I went through quite the adventure trying to get this table so I'll break it up into two parts: When I first ordered the table, I bought it "Used - Like New" off Amazon for about $20 cheaper than the brand new version. It wasn't until after I had started putting the table together that I realized I was missing two out of the five whole parts needed to build it!!! I tried contacting the company but they said because I bought it as Amazon's "Used" option they couldn't send me the missing pieces. Eventually, after talking to two different Amazon tech support employees, I just ended up returning the table and buying another one brand new. Once the brand new option arrived, everything was perfect. It's easy to put together, sturdy, looks amazing in my space, and the perfect addition to my college apartment. However, for roughly $100 it's a little pricey considering it's basically five black wooden planks and some screws. The only reason I am taking off a star is because of the hassle I had to go through to get the table with all of its parts. I understand though that it wasn't the company's fault and it was probably just an accident on Amazon's side. In all, I'm just happy to have my new table and my advice would be to NOT purchase a "Used" option.

Surprisingly beautiful (and super affordable!) when fully assembled. The box it comes in is about 4 feet in high and 15" wide. It's VERY heavy. I'm very petite, but I do admit that I'm really quite strong! But this was too heavy for me to haul up to my 5th floor apartment. So I had to ask a big guy that works the front desk concierge in my apartment complex. Even he said it was heavy! This is NOT an Ikea product. Which means... it does NOT come with any little tools to help you assemble it! You will need your own tools. Not much, just a screwdriver of small/medium/large sizes. I have no tools. So I asked one of my close guy friends to come over for wine, and to help me assemble this table with his tools and he told me that the instructions were actually really easy to follow, which was great! The finish is beautiful and what you see is what you get. It's narrow, so remember that. I wouldn't be able to use this as a work table because it's just not wide enough. I use it as a table against a wall to hold my TV and some books, etc.

We absolutely love this table! We had been searching local furniture stores, and tables similar to this (with similar build quality) tend to cost 3-4 times what this table costs. Building this table took about 15 minutes, and the result was very sturdy (no rocking/wobbling). There were a couple edges of the legs that were lightly scuffed, but we were lucky enough to have this happen to rear-facing edges, although the small amount of scuffing wouldn't really be a concern even if they were front-facing. I saw many reviews on here that mentioned poor quality construction, which initially made me nervous. I would agree that, yes, when compared to my console tables I previously paid $499 each for, this table feels relatively cheap. This product, though, does not look like a "$50 table." It does what it is meant to do, and from a value standpoint (coming from someone who has spent many months trying to find the right furniture) I would've been perfectly happy paying $150 for the table.

Had this table about a month. The quality is actually better than I imagined. Putting it together was pretty straightforward. Took me about 15-20 minutes to do by myself. Purchased this to use as an entryway table and fits that purpose well. Length and width are perfect to hold my keys and random items I need while not impeding on the hallway space.

The area of my home that I'm using for an office is super narrow - it's about 15' long and only 5' wide. This piece of furniture, although not marketed as a desk, was one of the only things I could find that's shallow enough to work in my space, at only 15.5" deep. A typical 25" or 30" deep desk would simply not be feasible in my space. Of the limited options available, this piece was the only thing I found that was both visually appealing to me, and workable for my shoestring budget. In fact it was so affordable that I ordered two - one to be a computer desk and one to be a writing desk. They are both set against the same wall, flanking the doorway, and they look great! In my opinion, they look way more expensive than they actually were. Other reviewers have said that they wouldn't trust these console tables to hold computers, TV's etc., but personally I think they are sturdy enough for my purposes. One of them has my computer monitor and printer on it; the other one just some office and writing supplies. They are both quite stable. I put them both together myself (single woman who doesn't generally consider myself terribly "handy") and found assembly to be straightforward and not overly time consuming. Only small flaw was that one of the tables had a few little scratches/nicks in the finish. Since the tables are black, I was able to camouflage the scratches with a sharpie. I can't even find the scratches anymore, so problem solved! The other table was in perfect condition. Oh, I also have a couple of black IKEA Expedit shelving units in the same room, and they're a great match in terms of color and style. Overall very pleased with purchase.
