Sanding Pads for Pen Turning (9-Pack)

These pads are much larger than expected. I ended up cutting them down to 3 strips each. It’s like getting 3 sets for the price of one. The colors were a bit difficult to match with the included progression card, but if you mark the edge with a sharpie, you can tell which order to use them easily.

I use this product to finish my custom pens. Works great and lasts. Will buy it again.

These are great sanding pads. Really get you to a fine, super smooth finish. The only problem is that they wear really fast. They start showing wear in the first use. That’s my only complaint. They do the job though. Love the finished product.

These sanding pads work very well at removing scratches and blemishes from my pens. The coarse pad leaves the surface cloudy and hazy, but by the time you have worked your way through all the pads the surface is very smooth. I still use a plastic polish (Novus #2) to finish, however. The pads are reusable many times.

Arrived quickly. Nice quality. A little challenging to sort by color but that could be my eyes. Would purchase again.

I have several Micro Mesh sanding pads that I use for plastic models and these don't match the quality and durability of MM. First the color code for the grits are off. I had to perform some tests to figure out what the actual grit of each pad was, which was only about 50% accurate. It would be nice if they put the actual grit rating on the pad instead of using the inaccurate color coding. Second the grit wears off the pad pretty quickly, especially when wet sanding....you can see the grit in the water and the worn spot on the pad after ONE use. On the plus side they are bigger than standard MM pads so at least you can get some decent use out of them. The 9 grades of grit are also nice. Overall I would say these are useful, but don't expect Model Mesh quality.

I have used these to restore several smoking pipe plastic bits. Using the graduated sandpapers I have been able to restore the shine to almost new!

This is not for fountain pens and will wear off very quickly. Also keep in mind that matching the grain size to the colors on paper is very confusing.

I got these pads to get a fine finish on the epoxy for a wood/epoxy bowl that I made, the pads worked great to achieve a near flawless finish. I did press a bit too hard and got a catch on the corner of the bowl which cut through the top layer and melted the pad but I couldn't foresee it happening with pen turning so can't complain as it's user error but just be aware.

The pads are good I use them for polishing my fountain pens. The only thing is trying to work out which colour goes with with grade. I think they should be marked in some way.

Left a glass finish on my pens! Would be useful to have grades written on the pads as the colour snatch does not quite match the pads but they work!

Great product, twice the size of others and just as good, only wish all makers could use same colour chart for grades, Tip these are large enough to cut in half
