Beware of to high of fuel pressure
Beware of high fuel pressure. I purchased this pump, had to remove the oil filter adaptor, detailed the area, new paint... After installation, she fired up nicely but within minutes it started to flood out. I tried to adjust the fuel levels on the Holley four barrel, no luck, still flooding. Broke into the fuel line with a pressure gauge and found the fuel pressure to be 13 PSI. Standard fuel pressure for a carburetor should be 4-6 PSI. This high of a fuel pressure just overcomes the float needle valves capability and floods the motor. Now I have to remove all this, re-detail, and install another pump. What a waste of time.

Does NOT fit a 1961 Thunderbird.
It fits the Ford FE/390 just fine. Unlike what Amazon says though, it will not fit into a '61 T-Bird. There's a front sway bar in the way of the enlarged fuel filter. It hangs down into the space where the swaybar resides. I mean, it'd fit fine if you removed that, but these old cars already wallow around corners. Doing it without a swaybar would be an adventure. Couldn't return for replacement as I marred up the filter housing a bit because it appears Thor himself attached it to the housing. It took a large vice and 2-foot channel locks to release it.
