Can i just stomp down their tunnels and then bait the newly created paths?

That just keeps them digging. Put on your gloves, we have even cut them in half, sometimes, but be sure to not touch them. We use a toothpick to get them out of the tray. Use a stick to make a hole in the run to drop the “worm” into, then use the stick again a little to tamp it down. They work great. But have patience. They’re not stupid.

At what temperature is best to place these in the yard? Thanks.

I love this product. I usually place these in the morning when the soil is moist and the temperature is around 70 degrees.

They do get placed in the "dirt mounds", i.e. mole hills, and in the tunnels. They work!!
