One bright idea... fully explained
I like Forbes Blair. I like the way he thinks.This book contains one great idea - that we can use everyday activities to reinforce our goals of self-improvement. The remainder of the book is the implementation of that idea... in exquisite detail... the hows, whens, and whats of the idea... with LOTS of examples.My complaint about the book is personal. Forbes and I don't share a Metaphorical Library; His thematic list of what daily activities mean, spiritually, don't 'speak to me'. So I end up re-doing most of the book to be more useful to me. But that's me.

Self Hypnosis Revolution is another great tool that takes even less time...
SHR is a great tool because it allows you to influence you subconscious mind while performing your everyday tasks and chores. It extracts theChapter 1- "The power of Self-Suggestion"This chapter defines suggestion and self-suggestion and discusses the power and effect of the two. Also it explains how they differ and relate to each other. It talks about the analogical similarity the mental diet and the physical diet "You are what you eat". Suggestions that you put into your mind reflect your attitude. This chapter talks about different methods of self-suggestion. It explains how SHR extracts the key symbolic associations of everyday activities that can be used metaphorically to improve our mental diet.Chapter 2- "Self-Hypnosis Revolution- Self Hypnosis without Going into a Trance"Forbes goes into more detail about this new method. He explains how our subconscious formulates dreams that have symbolic meanings of certain aspects that reflect our personalities ( during our waking lives). He explains how using the symbolism of activities in our lives can have somewhat of a reverse affect to influence and improve our mind/personalities. He talks about how we use metaphors in language and how we can extract the metaphors and symbols from daily tasks to make our self-suggestions much stronger and influential on our subconscious minds.Chapter 3- "The Self-Hypnosis Revolution Method- Four Simple Steps"This chapter breaks down how to use the method simply and efficiently.Chapter 4- "Ready-to-Go Programs to Break Bad Habits, Enhance Relationships, Improve Your Life, and Find Inner Peace"A great thing about his book is just about all of the tough legwork is done. Forbes provides program templates for 5 different target areas including Physical Wellness, Mental Wellness, Career and Finances, Improving Relationships and Spirituality. These programs simplify the whole process very easily and organized and provide instructions at the bottom to remind you how to use them.Chapter 5- "Create Your Own Program"If the ready-made templates don't exactly include activities that fit your lifestyle, this chapter will show you how to make your own program. I made my own program this morning for relationships. It took me less than 10 minutes to make. I completed the entire routine in 20 minutes between my usual routine from waking up and cleansing myself in the bathroom.Chapter 6- "Compendium of Activities- The Power and Purpose of Everyday Tasks"This chapter lists over 100 activities that you can choose from to customize your own program. Followed by the list is a page dedicated to each activities to elaborate on it's key symbolic associations, and suggestions for each of the 5 target areas. Some target areas have more than one suggestion to choose from.Chapter 7- "More about Self-Hypnosis Revolution and Changing Your life"This chapter provides a nice FAQ section, more ready-made templates, and directions on how to customize self-suggestions for activities not listed. Another beautiful thing is you can customize your own suggestions out of any activity you can think of!This book is great for people who have busy lives or for people who don't want to have to go into a trance every day to get results. It uses the power of symbols of activities in our daily routine to reprogram out subconscious (and mental diets) in very positive ways with very positive results. I just completed two week cycle of the mental wellness program and my head has been a lot clearer than it's ever been. I highly recommend this book to everyone!

First book was more helpful to me.
Forbes Blair's first self-hypnosis book is an amazing holistic tool for me. This had a message regarding our self talk and how to infuse meaning into our daily life, but not nearly as fantastic as his first book. Arrived quickly, book I. Good shape.

An eloquent exposition on the power of positive habit.
It took me so long since I bought the book to write a review because the information affected me so deeply and subtly, even more than his first book, "Instant Self-Hypnosis", it was and is a great book ("Instant Self-Hypnosis") by the way, but it doesn't compare to this approach in "Self-Hypnosis Revolution", so I finally decided to hunker down and do a unified review of them both at the same time. First-off, I know the full merits and full power of traditional self-hypnosis and meditation and "the magic of believing" of all sorts. But his approach, though nothing new, it can be considered different and rare. In that you can use it every day and "in a common way", the approaches in both books, yet also in the most uncommon way possible. He does use a definite Coueistically influenced approach in the second book though. "Common Habit" can be the most powerful thing when consciously applied. But his books are "The Advanced Concepts of Hypnosis", especially the second one.Captain Josh. Dreams, Consciousness, Spirit: The Quantum Experience of Self-Reflection and Co-Creation

Self-hypnosis Simplified in way you will actually use it !! 5 Stars for this book.
I have read many books on self hypnosis and all sounded great in concept but actually implementing them on a daily practise did go beyond 4th or 5th day. Hypnosis method using this book actually made me use self hypnosis without missing a day and I am already seeing some positive changes in me in less than 8 days !... Great Work by Forbes Robbins Blair.If this book does not help in using self hypnosis then I don't know if there is any other simpler method than this. I tried it on my spending habits and reaching some personal goal and I see it actually works.I personally want to thank Mr. Forbes Robbins Blair for this best book. This book along with "Instant Self-Hypnosis" by same author is Best combo for help with Self Hypnosis you can find in the market.

Wonderful technique but kindle version needs attention
I love the premise of the book. It’s a concept I’ve played with informally for years, using mundane tasks as triggers for affirmations, but the author really expands and deepens the practice. I just finished reading and I’m excited to start the program. The kindle version has some editing issues that make it difficult to read at times. It’a a minor inconvenience rather than an issue large enough to ruin the book.

A TRUE ORIGINAL
As a hypnotherapist of over 15 years, I have read many self-hypnosis books, most of them rehashing the same old stuff. While there's nothing wrong with "the same old stuff," it was exciting to read something that is was so unique and original.Forbes' idea of utilizing natural trance states to make changes is outstanding. It updates and brings Coue's concept of repeating "every day in every way, I'm getting better and better" into the 21st Century! Some people just don't have the time to sit down and do self-hypnosis, and some people don't feel they can go into trance. Forbes' figured out a way that folks don't have to do either!Very exciting.
