The man-cub Mowgli flees the jungle after a threat from the tiger Shere Khan. Guided by Bagheera the panther and the bear Baloo, Mowgli embarks on a journey of self-discovery, though he also meets creatures who don't have his best interests at heart. Review: Excellent movie and 3-D - I was specifically looking for some new (to me) 3-D Blu-rays that would be worth watching (not a fan of superhero stuff), and this seemed like a good possibility despite my not being a big fan of the animated classic. The first thing I noted once I started watching was that the 3-D largely looked natural, adding to the visuals. When it was raining, it was (almost) tempting to see if there was a wet spot in my living room carpet. :) They reserved a few over-the-top 3-D effects for the end credits. As for the movie itself, it was solid. I especially thought Bill Murray ended up being a great choice for Baloo. My only niggle is that, while the underlying story and character names were set in India, this movie seems, both landscape-wise and with the mix of animals, to be set in Africa, or maybe some hybrid location. Excellent movie and 3-D

Great 3D movie
I love 2D movies and actually only watch 3D. This movie has a great moral and very intriguing. Entire family enjoyed it, us parents and 11 and 14 year olds. Definitely watching again, and then again. I would not say that it has some knock-out-the-couch 3D moments but it has plenty that make you feel it. Of course, i also have great sound system :) Great movie! Totally recommend!

talking animals... 3D.. Great adventure
And exceptional remake of a true classic! This is a good example of how live action and computer-generated images can be so seamlessly integrated. The 3-D effects are particularly effective with the fine photography which carries you through the journey. Technology is truly exceptional... in the case of the animals it would be hard to believe that they're not real except for the fact that they do talk... A really wonderful adventure suitable for the entire family
