Is this part supposed to be tight when putting it back into sump. Didnt feel right like the thread was wrong

As a non original part i feel the threads have a loose manufacturing tolerance. I have used a few of these and they havent leaked, the trick is to make sure the seal is tight against the sump. If it doesn't seal then the sump pan threads may be worn and you will need to use a thread repair kit. Easy way to check the plug you have received is compare it to the one you remove by sitting the threads of both plugs against each other making sure there are no excessive gapsand then end to end to get a visual coparison of plug diameter.
