So far so good
As far as electric brooms go, this thing really performs well.Pros:1. Battery charge lasts forever. Honest I've been using it a little everyday for about two weeks and still on the first charge. I guess it takes a lot less energy to turn a motor to spin the brushes than to create suction in a vacuum.2. Having four rotating brushes to sweep material in to the waste compartment from all four sides works great.3. Very easy to empty.4. Very light5. Great for picking up visible debris of various sizes.6. Pretty good on carpeted stairs.7. Sweeps hard surfaces, rugs and carpets. Brushes aren't so powerful that they gobble up rugs.8. Includes a useful onboard tool that can be used to cut/remove hair and strings that will inevitably get wound around brushes.Cons:1. Kind of loud2. On/Off switch located on handle kind of low. Would be nice to have some sort of foot peddle, but not that big of deal.3. Don't expect this to replace a regular vac. Doesn't do much with dust or microscopic stuff. Actually stirs up dust on hard surfaces, but so does an old fashioned broom.Summary:For $40 I think this was well worth the purchase. It's great for people who hate to clean because it is so easy and effective and great for neat freaks like me who constantly clean because it is so easy and effective.

Works great and extremely useful
I am buying this one as a replacement. I had the first one for six years and it only died when it got wet and the motor stopped working, so it will last a long time (if kept dry). What is great about this item is that you just leave it charged and it can eaily be used to clean up. If you have a cat, this is great for picking up around the litter box. Also useful in the kitchen for small spills (dry detergent, pasta, etc) and near the entrance door when dirt or grass comes in from the outside. Not a replacement for a vacuum but it is nice to have and easy to handle. The movement makes it easy to use in any space. Removing dirt from it is a little hassle and it helps to just remove the dirt over a trash can.Biggest problem for me was getting someone to ship it to Hawaii. Out of the 9 dealers that carry it, only a couple ship to Hawaii. Hey dealers! We are part of the US and we are the ones paying for shipping, so just offer it to us.

The G2 (Bending) Model Is Weak at the Joint
I have found the swivel sweeper to be an absolutely indispensible tool. I don't use a standard vacuum or broom and dust pan any longer. The Swivel Sweeper does everything that I need: cleaning hardwood and tile floors (it doesn't work on carpets unless there is no nap). There is nothing like it for cleaning up cat litter that gets out of the cat box. I used to use a mini vac for this purpose, but Swivel Sweeper cleans effortlessly. The 360-degree rotating head gets virtually anywhere. The handle can be 90 degrees vertical to 0 degrees horizontal (e.g., for getting under beds effortlessly). The sweeper gets right up to walls and even in corners. It gets behind toilets and all the other places that a regular vacuum would be too big for. The Swivel Sweeper is light and effortless.Putting the Swivel Sweeper together out of the box is simplicity itself. Snap a few parts into place and voila! It takes about 60 seconds. The rechargeable battery lasts almost an hour and recharges fully in about 8 hours with the supplied charger (not rechargeable batteries to buy). You don't have to worry about finding outlets to plug into and dragging that inconvenient vacuum AC cord everywhere you go.The Swivel Sweeper comes with a little tool that you can use to pick threads and such like out of the brushes if you need to. In normal use, if you avoid carpets, you shouldn't even have to do this. I would not recommend avoiding using the Swivel Sweeper on wet debris (like wet cat litter). This can get on the brushes and cake things up. As long as you keep to dry clean-up, you shouldn't have any problem at all.I can't recommend this product highly enough. There is just nothing like it for easily and quickly cleaning up on any surface except carpets. It easily cleans in places that no vacuum would ever get to.But there are a few negatives that I have discovered after buying now four of these:1) The newer G2 model, which flexes half way down does allow you to sweep without too much bending under places such as beds and desks, but the downside is that the flexing joint makes the sweeping pole less stable. Mine broke at the joint after less than a year's use. Unless you really can't bend over (I didn't use the flexing joint much myself; I found that it was easier to bend over), you don't need the newer G2 model, which is more expensive.2) I have found that the manufacturing of these swivel sweepers is unreliable. I had one Swivel Sweeper, which worked fine for a couple of years. Then the motor started cutting in and out. I ordered another, and it suffered the same problem after two months.3) All in all, you should count on these Swivel Sweepers to last about two years. At about $30, that's $15 per year for a really useful product, so I would still recommend for its very positive features.

How long will it last?
The video is a new update on the latest model and i am NOT impressed! I am only giving the new ones i purchased for my friends 2 stars. This one is my original review. First let me say that I have been using a shark cordless sweeper for the past three years now. I have been happy with it but it has been used very hard. Example of this, when I go camping in a national park I use it to vacuum the rocks off the dirt so I can set up my tent with no debris under it. It doesn't get much harder than that. Now on to the swivel sweeper. I received it from amazon on the day promise. It was extremely easy to assemble and the instructions were clear. I charged the battery for 8 hours like the manual instructed me to do. A lot of people have trouble with products they buy because they don't read the instructions. Some people think that they know more than the people that manufacture the item or distribute it. It is made in china but what aren't these days? The only other sweeper I have to compare it to is my shark. It has some disadvantages over the shark but also has some advantages. The swivel sweeper doesn't pick up as good as my shark. What I mean to say is sometimes you have to make several passes over the debris and the shark does it in one past. Now here are some of the advantages over the shark. It has that non slip handle, which means you can lean it up against the wall and it won't fall down like the shark does. It is lighter than the shark. The base swivels up and is held by a magnet for storing it. I like this; I store it in the small area between the stove and the refrigerator. Now I am big on maintaining things I purchase, they last longer that way. The shark is a lot of work to clean completly. There are lots of parts and lots of screws to take out. I will be able to clean the swivel sweeper in one fifth the time, at least. Everything is going to be easy to get to. It is well thought out. The big advantage the swivel has over the shark is the 360 degree rotating base. This sweeper get into every corner and goes around everything. I like the way the tray empties out very simple and efficient. Just press the tabs over the garbage can and presto it empties no mess no fuss. Set it back on the floor and the tray closes. On the shark the tray pulls out from the side and be prepared for a mess in the house if it is real full of debris. I tested the swivel on things you won't! I put a pile of tacks, nails, screws, bolts, nuts, almonds, cereal, paper bits, dog hair, paper clips, Styrofoam, and pieces of crunch up electrical tape on the carpet and bare floor. I know I must be crazy to test it this way but it is fun having new things to play with. I made several passes over the pile of things. I did this on short pile carpet and then on a bare floor. It picked up every item on the carpet and floor except two pieces of electoral tape that was stuck to the carpet. Try this with your regular vacuum and watch it self-destruct!!! It sure made some bad noises while it was picking these items up. When I was finished I emptied the dirt tray and then turned it upside down to inspect it. No damage at all to the rollers but had hair and paper tangled around the rollers. Now I decided to clean it. I took the top cover and air filter off like the instructions said. I use the cleaning brush it comes with to clean the rollers inspecting them as I went. After I cleaned it there was no damage to any of the rollers. There were marks and nicks in the dirt tray and on some of the plastic, but no major damage whatsoever. Now the swivel doesn't look as durable as the shark, but time will tell. I like the price of replacement parts for the swivel. I like this swivel sweeper a lot so far. How long it will last only time will tell. The handle that releases and bends at the elbow get under furniture and couches and is easy to use. Gosh we Americans are sure getting lazy when we won't even bend over a little. When you figure with free super saver shipping from amazon the price of 26.99 is more than reasonable for what you get. Sometimes I think some of the reviews are too critical of products. I think you need to understand that you should compare what you get based on the price you paid for the item. In other words you shouldn't have champagne taste on a beer pocket. As long as I am happy that is all that counts. So not knowing for sure how long it will give me good service I still am going to rate it 5 stars.Update 5/9/2013: Well i have used this now for over a year and it still works like new. I keep it clean. I completely dismantled it once and greased the gears and then reassembled it. Battery still gives excellent service even with a years usage on it. Haven't needed to purchase any replacement parts for it. However since i purchased this other people i know that have bought this model find out they don't come with the rubber tip on the handle that keeps them from sliding off the wall if you lean it up against a wall. Also not coming with the cleaning brush.

A must-have for daily clean-ups and getting dust bunnies/dirt from under furniture
I had a swivel sweeper a while back and, when it had seen better days, I traded it in for a cordless upright vacuum. The upright worked fine but was not convenient for getting the dust bunnies from under couches, entertainment centers and bureaus. Also, its battery became too weak over time, which never happened with my swivel sweeper. I then purchased a corded upright compact vacuum but missed having a cordless tool. I then decided to order another swivel sweeper and will never be without one again. It does a great job picking up crumbs, soccer pellets and dust bunnies on hard floors as well as on low carpeting. It maneuvers perfectly to get in nooks and crannies in my bathrooms and under/around furniture. When you have lots of boys running around your house making a mess, this is the best/easiest tool to pull out for a quick clean-up.

Great product, unbelievably bad support
I liked this product so much I bought three more of them. Two for friends and one more for myself as a spare. I cannot evaluate this exact product because it did not work out of the box, but the other three are great, especially on a hard surface - wood or tile. They are not as good on carpet and don't work at all on deep pile. They seem durable, my first model is three years old and still going strong with almost daily use, I decided to buy a backup, this purchase, when/if mine failed. It arrived defective, one of the internal gears was broken. It did not work when I took it out of the box. I did not open it within the 90 warranty period (it was actually close to nine months). My issue is not with the refusal to provide a fix but with the rude, non existent customer support. The first two calls resulted in a suggestion of how to fix it (which didn't work because it was for a different model) and a polite "sorry but it's out of warranty."I followed up with four detailed emails between September and the end of November to the customer support department using their on line form and including attachments of the original purchase receipt from Amazon and three different pictures of the defective part, a fused and broken drive gear. The product was obviously never tested because it could never have worked properly. I received no reply, not even an acknowledge of receipt which I had asked for in the email. Finally, I called customer support asking for a supervisor. I was promised a call back which never came.In summary the product works as described and proves to to be useful, but I cannot recommend it because Ontel, the distributor provides absolutely no customer support.

Perfect for quick clean up
I purchased this item after seeing an infomercial about it late one night. I did not purchase this with the idea that it was a vacuum because let's face it..that is not what this is. Actually I purchased this for light sweeping, especially for use on my stairs. They are carpeted and my vacuum is much to heavy to lug up and down the stairs. So naturally when I saw this lightweight option to quickly tidy up my stairs and other small messes that may arise.I would also like to mention that vacuuming in my home is not the easiest task at all, normally completed by a Shark Navigator, I have 3000+ SF and a Golden Retriever whose hair gets literally everywhere! With that said, this little sweeper does a fantastic job at doing a quick clean up of dog hair and grass that gets tracked in from outside.Bottom line is..I would highly recommend this to somebody looking for an easy and quick way to tidy up small messes or stairs. Do not purchase this item with the idea that it will vacuum your entire home, that is absurd. This is not a vacuum, it is a sweeper. To the reviewers unaware of the difference, I recommend doing some research before committing to this product and writing not so favorable reviews because you expected this small sweeper to work miracles on your home that 5 dogs and 3 cats reside in...lol...lets try and be realistic!

Owned the original and loved it, the G2 is a piece of junk!
Okay, so I owned and loved the original swivel sweeper. We had two of course as that is how they come from the TV special. We used one upstairs, one downstairs, loved it like there was no tomorrow, then the batteries refused to charge...So I said hey, we'll buy a G2, it has to have improved... right?NO!The original would get all nasty and have so much hair in it that it wouldn't even touch the ground, but it would run. You'd stop take it apart, remove the hair and whamo off you went fresh and ready. So excited to get the new one, fancy red, bends, no muss garbage tray....What we were not expecting was how poorly it would run.It would run for maybe 2-3 minutes then just stop, you turn it off and back on maybe 30 seconds...Occasionally you would get lucky and the thing would run 10 minutes and you'd actually get a chance to clean the floor. We assumed it wasn't charged enough, charged the battery for a full day and it still doesn't perform.Well I know.. I know.. should have contacted the seller, I didn't and therefore I would not hold anything against them as sellers. We have had it less then a year, and we have to toss it, it is just too frustrating to even try using.I just want to put it out so people know what they are getting in to.They "improved" it and put in a limiter to shut the motor off when it felt like it was struggling due to having hair or rope knotted up in it.Of course, there is not even a single piece of hair even caught in the brushes, the brushes look almost new. They took a good thing and ruined it in my honest opinion.... back to the broom.

Best sweeper ever!
I moved to the UK from Australia 3 months ago. I had a swivel sweeper in Australia and loved it so I definitely wanted another one. I couldn't get one at first so I bought a Bissell, the reviews were good so I thought I'd give it a try. It was awful. After a few weeks the Swivel Sweeper became available again so I bought one. It is brilliant! If you are thinking of getting a rechargeable sweeper get this one. It is very efficient, it does exactly what it says it will do and it's light and easy to use. I would thoroughly recommend this sweeper.

Works much better than i expected
I live in a 1 bedroom flat with light carpets that are a fluff magnet. I was not too sure if the Swivel Sweeper G2 would be good enough to pick up all the bits from the floor. But I was overwhelmed by how good it works. It picks everything up with ease and is so light and manoeuvres around and under the furniture effortlessly. The poor vacuum cleaner is feeling under loved now as it comes out of the cupboard a lot less than it use too.

The 2nd one we have had in a number of years
We use this on a daily basis on our hard floors ie; kitchen passageway to conservatory and conservatory floor. This is the second one we have had and find it better and quicker than a broom. Its very light and whizzes round in no time. If there is one gripe the battery does not last long and I have never seen a replacement available so you end up throwing the whole lot in the bin. I suppose this is a good marketing technic to encourage you to buy a new one. Also shop around on the price. Otherwise I would still buy another.
