I make all the mistakes, & over time, I try to correct them. It’s a Way.In My Way, I feel I am being taught. We are always learning about life.Yesterday, I parked the car, & saw the most beautiful sky I could ever imagine. I stopped, as it was near sundown (as they call it, for I know that I am actually feeling the Earth rotating away). No one else in my neighborhood cared one single bit. But there I was, staring, enjoying, worshiping the Beauty of being alive at that moment.I would have felt a bit embarrassed to be acting so strange, to them. I know. But what do I care?No one passed by, as the weather was a bit harsh, & all the humans were totally involved in human life.So, at that particular moment, it was only me & my planet, & my Star.I even began to feel that I might be the only one on my planet to even look up, see, enjoy, wonder, feel the art of the vision, feel connected to it.For some strange reason, though we begin to think we can figure out what Life is about, we are not built to know the answers.I say answers, because there are many of them, as our lives are felt in that way. When we are alone, & looking around, we feel the wind & the weather. When we are with family, we feel the fabric of togetherness. When we are at the market, or with friends, we feel the Theater of Social Living. When we are at home, there are tasks & chores to drive us. When we are sitting with someone, we want to tell the Story of our Lives.And because we are human, every day there are new problems & issues, which seem to be the most real of all realities. That never seems to change or even relax.Though we feel like Good People, all our problems seem to be caused by the kind-of-bad-people around us. They can be good people too, of course, but they get themselves into troubles, & those problems become ours.We do care about that, to the point that it becomes hard to fall asleep at night.I used to spend lots of time & energy blaming everyone else for all my problems. I always thought of myself as the good guy, & they were the trouble.Then, some years ago, I began to see my past in a more objective way, & I realized that I did a lot of troubles for them, just because I was on the way of finding where I am now.That is why I am not plagued with anger. It’s better to approach situations with kindness, to yourself & others. Most people are on this same learning curve, & as humans, we have this tendency to want to jump a fence & bend the rules around our desires.Still, when there is a situation, you have to be brave & take your position. We do have a place in the Party going on, & our being here changes the party. Doesn’t it? I think so.We elders are living in the strangest time I could have ever imagined. The whole world seems to have gone crazy, & those of us who have a vision of a Better World, well, they think we’re the lunatics, after all.The wonderful internet has not raised our consciousness. It is about as spiritual as an old ham sandwich…at best. The daily news is “who killed who”…or worse.Now, I have a suspicion that this is not new. I reckon it is somewhat (almost) eternal. That is, if you translated the ancient clay tablets of thousands of years ago, you would read the same news: “The youth of today are completely out of hand. There is violence everywhere. Society is falling apart & we are all going down.”Well, I always say we are, at the same moment, both Ancient & Modern. Most of you don’t feel like either one, but I feel both. Of course I can’t keep up with the kids who seem the most modern of all, nor can I prove that there is anything more ancient about me than 1943 when I was born.But I am a lunatic, & I do feel we have some connection to our ancestors. After all, we were blessed to be born, & they gave all their lives to bring us to here.Deep within us, we have this Ancient Beginning within our brain & physical structure. That is why they call it Evolution.I even would like to propose that our ancestors would wonder about Life, just as much as I am doing right now.I don’t care about trying to prove that, scientifically. If I insist that I feel guided & watched over by people who are not alive now, that is my preference. These are my hands typing, but they were given to me by so many generations they are not really “my” hands.So, whatever you think is Modern going on now, it’s not. It is just the most current story built upon the stories of history of us. I just take it one step back, & include pre-history. They were alive, & they were “people” too.That is why we are able to exist.But that doesn’t begin to answer the question of why.Why do we exist? That’s an old question, but here I will give you a wise answer, not from my own pocket, but from a Wise Teacher.I might not know why I exist, but I’m livin’*One more thing: We might not know how to save the world, but until we do, let’s give the people food.By food I mean food to eat, love to nourish, caring about people.
