Great home printer!
I personally like Epson printers because the ink that is used with these printers are archival, meaning they will not complete wash out if wet, will not bleed when using the correct type of paper to print on, and will not fade. These are all great characteristics for portfolios and printing on fabric/iron on transfers. I'm not much a picky person when it comes to scanning because in the end I edit in photoshop to get the best quality anyways. My only problem with scanning is that the scanning platform is only fit for documents or books that are 10"x20" but then again, this is a device for home usage. The printer itself prints high quality for a 2-in-1 device and the software is fairly easy to install on a PC. With this device however, if you have no router, you cannot access the wireless feature. A regular USB chord will easily and automatically work with your processor. Not to mention, the software does not use a lot of memory to run. Especially with a netbook that has windows 7 starter using larger memory software could potentially be harmful to your computer, causing it to crash. My issue with previous printing/scanning software is that they use a lot of memory and take a longer time to finish or process a job. The software is compatible with any Microsoft, Adobe Reader, and Adobe Photoshop. In factory packaging, there is always a cartridge of black and color included. When printing, a screen pops up to show you the status of the printing process. There is also a simple "check ink level" feature you can easily access. In general, I am very happy with this product which has met my expectations from previous experiences with Epson and other brand name printers.

Ok if you need a printer for 3 months or so
Worked ok for a couple months. Now it constantly needs attention. It's always low on ink; and it used to be you could still print black and white even if you were low on color. That's changed, some how. The instructions don't tell you how to troubleshoot half of the things that happen. Piece of crap, just like all the rest on the market.

Alright for the price, but limited Linux support and no WPA
I bought this printer as a college student, and if I can get it working it works quite well. Most of the issues I faced are related to the network (which is a public college network, not a private home one), but it is worth noting that you cannot print over WPA-encrypted networks. I'm also disappointed at the lack of detailed interface capabilities - WiFi connection is left to a single button on the front, meaning if your network has some prohibitive settings, you can't configure the printer to work around them. Finally, the lack of scanning and ink monitoring capabilities on Linux is unfortunate. You are restricted only to color and BW printing. However, it isn't awful. It is compact in comparison to other models, prints at a decent speed, and is certainly worth the price. I'd recommend it to anyone with a private network or using a USB connection with Windows/Mac, but I'd advise Linux users or people on business/school networks to consider another model.

It's OK. Quality Commensurate with Price
It's OK for the price, but when compared with other printers, it's kind of weak. It will print, copy, and scan though, and that's what I needed it to do.

Frustration in a box
Hate this printer. Every time ink needs to be changed, which is often, be prepared to be frustrated. The change ink button rarely works. And good luck figuring out how to change ink. You have to go to the owner's manual every time to decipher which button to push and for how long to push it. There's no clear sense of what each button means - just indecipherable symbols.

Print that uses a lot of ink!
Easy setup, but uses a lot of ink to print even when set at a low resolution. By an HP printer.
