Area 61 Single Coil Pickup - White

I purchased this 61' for the bridge position of my MIM Fender Strat, rosewood fretboard. I have no prior experience with Dimarzio as I'm mainly a Seymour Duncan guy. I also purchased the Dimarzio True Velvet for the middle and the Area 58' for the neck. Previously I had Fender Texas Specials, which after a year and a half of playing, I decided were too "harsh." I did a lot of research and went with this combo, and BOY, these sound GREAT!!!! To me the set sounds really 'crisp' and natural. This bridge pickup sounds 'clean' and 'articulate.' I was worried about the Alnico 2 magnets, as my research suggested they would be "low output," but have no fear, these guys sound pretty normal to me. Do not sound "weak" at all. Really "vintage" sounding to me. Very well rounded tone, not too bright, not too much midrange, no real muddinrss to them, just very clean, clear, and natural vintage sounding to me. Basically they just sound really really good. I am SO pleased with these pickups and this configuration! I mainly play Blues, and these are exactly the pure clean tone I was looking for!

I love thing! Makes my beloved MIM strat sound like an expensive guitar. Slightly less warm lo end than original MIM pickups, but the awesome midrange and overall balance is soo sweet, that i dont miss that tiny bit less of low end. Oh, and stacked coils totally eliminate all hum/buzz. SUPER quiet!! And it sounds as single coil as they come! This is the pickup for me!

I "hot rodded" my Fender Strat to get the "Lincoln Brewster" sound. DiMarzio Area 61 pickup in the bridge position wired solely to the bottom tone pot and two Area 58 pickups for the middle and neck pickups. The middle pickup shouldn't be wired to any tone pot. The neck pickup to the middle tone pot. I had a repair tech "Joe" at Corner Music in Nashville do the work. He also set up my guitar. After all this the Strat is a natural! I finally have the full sound I've wanted (and that's before even get the Line 6 POD that Lincoln uses). Be careful when ordering to make sure you specify the right color. Somehow I got a white Area 61 and two cream colored Area 58s. Otherwise, no worries. These pickups are fantastic.

Great PU. I exchanged it for my Fender select PU in the neck position. It excelled by higher output and adds a little bit more punch.

Love this pickup, sounds great and is noiseless.

Put this in the bridge position of my strat (Area 58's in neck and middle positions). Great sounding pickup with absolutely no noise!! One of the best sounding single coils I've heard.
