Huge home theater upgrade for a very small cost.
I purchased a pair of these tactile transducers to mount in my home theater seats. The impact is incredible! Don't get me wrong, I have a 15" servo subwoofer that will easily rattle the windows if I want it to; however, it still doesn't provide the experience that these little beauties provide. The experience is most akin to a high end movie theater where you feel the bass throughout your body. The lowest frequencies can't be heard anyway, but feeling them immediately improves the movie experience dramatically. To hook them up, I split my subwoofer out cable and ran one to my subwoofer, and the other split to a cheap stereo amplifier to the CD input. The result is that the signal coming into my 2nd amplifier includes only the low frequencies as established by my crossover in my 1st amp, which is set to 80hz. I hooked the bass shakers to the 2nd amp speaker outputs and can now adjust the "volume" of the bass shakers by using the volume control on the 2nd amp. Even with my volume turned down quite a ways, the bass shakers provide the illusion of an enveloping sound field and live action. I couldn't be happier with these products. I actually had to turn them way down since they shake so much. You don't need a much more expensive solution since these will output more shake than you'll ever need. I turned them way down because initially they shook too much and created a very artificial experience. With them turned down, they are much more subtle, yet they still shake my theater seats quite a bit.

Fantastic tactile addition! :Lots of shake.
These are nothing short of awesome! I have two subs in my home theatre setup, driving at 800 and 1500 watts, and can play down to around 25 Hz, 28 Hz with decent level, so I'm not lacking for bass or punch. However adding these gives an amazing tactile kick, adding depth to the system and completing the experience. Basic frequency testing shows they shake from about 48 Hz all the way down to about 28 Hz, which perfectly compliments my subs. I've experienced no bottoming out or any kind of distorted shake even at levels that are more than what I would think most people would enjoy. They handle hard kicks from explosions and soft transient response from music as well. They peak in the low to mid 40s by a few dB so if this is bothersome to you you will have to use an equalizer to flatten them out. I'm driving 4 of them with a classic Nikko Alpha III stereo amp rated 80 watts RMS. I wired two to each channel in series so the resistance would increase to 8 ohms. I added a simple pre-amp to set the level. Level setting is critical in any home theater and you want to make sure you get this right so they blend properly with the rest of your setup and don't blow apart from being overdriven. A word on mounting - do NOT mount these to a solid part of your furniture such as the main frame structure. You will feel little to no effect. I did this first and was horribly disappointed. I then changed up and mounted one for each seat with deck screws on a 3/4" board attached to the framing for the seat springs. This spring framing "floats" as a 6 point attachment to the main structural frame on 1 x 2s. I had to make sure the board did not touch the main frame, or the effect was reduced. I couldn't be more pleased, they are an amazing deal for the price.

Very powerful bass transducer. Works great mounted to my office chair.
Wow, this thing really does turn up the bass. I bought a 6 inch wood platform and used a few RAM mount connections to mount this to my Steelcase Leap office chair. It is a removable configuration and doesn't affect the resale value of the chair. I initially had a Vybe Haptic Pad that i got for $40 which was great, but nowhere near as comfy as sitting in my chair unhindered. It is small enough, yet powerful and mounts discretely. It worked great with a below $30 Lepai 70w sub amp. It is very accurate and feels great with Music. I haven't tried Movies and Games yet, but music was always the tough sell with my haptic pad. The overall cost for the Transducer, Amp and mounting materials was below $140 which is in the ballpark of the Buttkicker Gamer 2 which is out stock everywhere at the time of this writing. My only negative is that i couldn't use a audio transmitter to make it wireless, but it's not a strike against this item. Parts that i used to mount purchased from Amazon. 1. Walnut Hollow Baltic Birch Circle Plaque-6"x6" 2. Ram Mount 2 x 1.7 Inches Base with 1-Inch Ball 3. Ram Mount Double Socket Arm for 1-Inch Ball 4. RAM Zinc Coated U-Bolt Mounting Base with 1 inch Ball This solution makes the Transducer easily removable with the twist of a knob and holds sturdy. I have it posted to the pole under the seat of my office chair. Update: I got the wireless receiver working so now this is more portable and i only have to plug in the power to any socket. Dayton Audio WS-12 Wireless Audio Transmitter/Receiver Final update: Still going years later. My setup is completely wireless now using Talentcell 12V 6000mah battery.

Solid and good value for money
Perhaps useful to compare side to side with a Buttkicker Concert Mini which as far as I can tell is the same as the driver in the Buttkicker Gamer 2. I've run these off the same amp with the same settings out of Simhub to compare them side by side. Pros: - these don't overheat. You can push them to the point that it feels like their giving their best without maxing out at certain frequencies and yes, they get a bit warm, but they don't go into melt down. - the mounting surface is flat, and as long as you have the space very easy to mount - cheap! - adequate response for corner use, in my rig anyway. - doesn't have major piston slap issues in a specific frequency range as far as I can tell. It's either fine, or volume is too high, unlike the BK which can be frustrating because you have to set the amp to avoid the low hz piston slap, and in so doing lower volume where it's much more capable (or eq out 20-30hz a little). Cons: - does not have the same deep resonance that the BK is capable of. That BK thrum that you can get from low revs is just excellent, but I've it's getting that by working hard in the 20hz -30hz range, and that's what makes the BK overheat.. so I can't really give the BK a complete win here. All in all I think it's a product that "just works". It's not the best response available, but it's easy to dial in and enjoy for hours.

Simracing rig
I have this hooked up to a very reasonably priced amp (ZK-502H 50W+50W Bluetooth... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08L38Z841?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share). And from the amp to the computer via USB, so that the computer will recognize it as a completely different audio device than the sound card, since that is already used to drive speakers. This way, in iRacing (and probably other titles,, dunno) I can set the LFE output to its own device which drives this shaker only with LFE outputs, and not the whole game sound output. I've literally drilled holes in the bottom of my racing rig's seat, to mount this on the bottom. This setup is petty amazing. Nearly inaudible. But remarkably strong and precise. At default LFE settings, this thing will just about throw you out of the seat. Yes, that's a slight exaggeration. But it's enough to blow your mind. I never thought that I would like a shaker in my rig. Seemed too gimmicky to me. But when a buddy loaned me his super cheap Dayton shakers and an even cheaper amp, it impressed me enough that I knew I had to have it. The immersion was much better than I expected. But it had to be better of course. Looking at some of the known brand shakers for this purpose, I got seriously sticker shocked. I knew I could dyi something comparable for a fraction of the cost. This setup fits the bill! Not terribly expensive. And, I can't imagine how a 4 shaker setup would ever be needed after experiencing this. . I am planning on buying a 2nd one tho, to put on my pedel plate using the 2nd channel of the amp. But I may have to upgrade my amp to one that has balance control. I'm pretty sure that the pedel plate one will not need near the same power. But there's no way to control that with my current amp. But still, even with an amp upgrade, I'm still going to come out at WAY less cost than buying brand names.

An inexpensive WOW factor for you Home Theater
I recently purchased some home theater seats to go in our basement media area. I purchased these items to add some additional rumble to the bass when watching movies. Installation: Installation really depends on where you are going to be putting these items and what you will be mounting them to. In my case, to installation was as easy as putting a plywood plank along the bottom of the chair and attaching these to the plank. As easy as hooking up a normal speaker. I have a total of 8 of these shakers wired to a two channel amp. Make sure that the shakers are wired in such a way that they will be receiving enough power. *A note here: Make sure that the amp that you use is capable of running at a 4 ohm load or whatever the ohm rating you will be using. The shakers are rated at 50 watts at 4 ohms, although that may change based on the number that are wired together and the method used.* One other note on installation, if your seating is sitting on thick carpet or on cement, you may need to purchase some rubber isolators to make sure that the shaking stays in the seat and is not transferred to the floor. Performance: As my seats are sitting in the basement with thick carpet, the performance was not quite what I was hoping in the initial setup. Once I purchased the isolators, the performance increased 10 fold. Now, it really packs a punch and I have had to turn them down a little bit to keep from shaking too much. Pros: -There is nothing better than watching an explosion on screen and feeling that explosion in the seat. -Much cheaper alternative than the Buttkickers which can cost up to 3 times as much depending on the model that you get. -It's fun to watch a movie with people who don't know you have them installed and watch their reaction the first time they shake the chairs. Cons: -May need some rubber isolators if they are being installed in chairs on thick carpet or cement.

Changed my mind about Transducers
I consider myself a budget audiophile and my current gear consists of an Emotiva Processor, Multiple Emotiva Amps, Tannoy Precison 6.4 Speakers and 2 HSU Subwoofers. I have been interested in Tactile transducers for a while but never really owned one. Considering I primarily listen to music and have enough bass for my purpose in my system. However, lately due to conflicting work schedules, I am at times forced to watch a movie or listen to music via headphones. Headphones sound great but lack the feedback of a real subwoofer. So I decided to order a pair of tactile transducers. Like many of you I was unsure between the AuraSound and the Dayton transducers. So I ordered a pair of each. Ultimately, I ended up using all of them. Here are my observations 1) A decent tactile experience needs more than one transducer. 2) The AuraSound transducer is much larger and produces much more vibration than the dayton transducer 3) My butt can handle a lot more vibration than my head can. So, after a bit of experimenting, I decided to put the AuraSound ones at the bottom of my seat and the Dayton one behind the back. (Less vibrations in my head, more on my body). If you have an amplifier than can handle a 4 ohm load, buying the 8 ohm version of each and wiring them in parallel will work. Else, buying the 16 Ohm versions and wiring them in parallel will be the way to go. I tried a few different amplifiers on these transducers, and came to the conclusion that high end features of amps like THD, Signal/Noise ratio etc, doesnt make much difference in the over all experience of these transducers. As long as you have 20 watts or more of RMS power, you will do fine. The class D amps on sale here serve the purpose. In my case, I brought a cheap onkyo reciever from craigslist for $ 40 and added a subwoofer crossover to the output to filter out the higher frequences. (Crossed over at 80Hz). Removing the crossover creates a subtle difference, but if you have a subwoofer out that has a low pass filter built in, you may not need a crossover. As for the final effect, I didnt tell my wife that I had these in our couches. At first she thought the vibrations were from our subwoofer, but then came a scene in the movie that she remembers distinctly (a scary scene). And she literally jumped out of the seat. And the amusing part of this experience was, the subs were switched off. As some other reviewers have noted, these can make up for a decent experience without using a subwoofer. Like a gaming scenario or while listening through headphones. For music only, I prefer to switch these off.

I love bass shakers
I installed 2 of these in my couch and have watched several movies and listened to plenty of music with them. I'd say they are more geared towards movies and video games. I've had several people come over and they don't know what the heck is going on when they sit down, but they love it and say my sub is amazing etc. But it's just the combination of a decent sub and some subtle shaking. I'm really glad I got them, it just doesn't feel right watching a movie without them on. For 88 dollars, it's probably the best addition to my home theatre system. 12/15/13 update They still work great, very happy with the purchase. I have people over ever so often for movies and these bass shakers are always the focus for my guests haha! "Let me turn on the couch real quick." I always get a weird look or I just let them figure out what's going on underneath their rear end on their own. Some of the reactions are worth the purchase alone. I play video games like Forza, Battlefield, and Call of Duty. One of my friends says it's as close as being in the action as you can get and I agree 100%. Hitting the curbs in Forza and using a large gun on Battlefield can be quite fun. Match these with a nice surround sound system and a projector screen and you'll feel the same way. I've contemplated getting a steering wheel and a shifter to enhance the experience even more, guess we will see about that.

I ordered two, one is obviously weaker than the other.
I'm not sure if I have received a defective unit, but one of the two bass shakers I have ordered is MUCH weaker than the other, I have tried different cables and applications to no avail. An expensive defective unit..

Incredible Bass Shakers – Perfect for Gaming and Movies
These bass shakers are absolutely phenomenal! I originally purchased four, thinking I’d need that many to really feel the impact. However, after setting up just two of them, I quickly realized that’s all I needed. These things pound! The amount of vibration and immersion they deliver is insane. For gaming and movies, the experience is next-level. Explosions, engine rumbles, or even subtle effects like footsteps feel incredibly realistic. The shakers add a tactile layer of immersion that truly makes you feel like you’re part of the action. Whether it’s an intense firefight in a game or a high-octane chase scene in a movie, these shakers bring it to life like never before. The build quality is impressive, and they’re easy to set up with the right amp. Once configured, they work seamlessly without needing constant adjustments. They also handle high volumes and heavy usage without any signs of strain or overheating. While I initially purchased four shakers, I ended up returning two because the power of just two was more than enough for my setup. They shake like crazy and completely transformed my gaming and home theater experience. If you’re on the fence about adding bass shakers to your setup, do yourself a favor and go for it. Just two of these will blow you away with how much they enhance the immersion. Highly recommended!

Bought as I thought it would be a bit of fun, but actually really impressed!
I bought a couple of those and a cheap 100w stereo amp which I connected to the subwoofer 2 output of my main amp. Attached both to one seat, not knowing what to expect, and the vibration was so strong it was uncomfortable! I then moved one of the shakers to the other side of a 6 seater sofa and it was still too much so I've had to turn the amp down to about 30% - it's now a great addition to the home cinema, and really adds a bit of extra sensation to the cinema experience. Bought then for a bit of a laugh, but yeah, quite impressed!
