New Poems: A Revised Bilingual Edition

Although my German is not good enough to comment upon the translation itself, the ability to hear the rhyme and rhythm in Rilke's native language adds a level of richness, structure and musicality to the poetry that I would have missed no matter how brilliant the translator. I find it well worth the added effort to read the poems aloud in both languages.

This is a really excellent book for people wanting the english and german. they are right alongside each other, and it's not only great for translating, but also for learning german. and it's not that long, because poems dont take up a full page

A very good translation overall of some difficult to translate poems sculpted from the German dictionary as if it were marble.
