These theory books are an excellent supplement to the lesson books. I recommend getting them. My boys are doing them and I feel they have less gaps in their knowledge than my other child who is more advanced in piano but skipped the theory books.

I am teaching a 7-year old imaginative child. The imagery in the book and ways of explaining music theory are very good.

The Piano Theory book is used by my child's music school. This is the second level we have purchased in the Hal Leonard series and we could not be happier. The books complement each other with every lesson providing support in both theoretical exercises in reading/writing music and in the progressive presentation of techniques through a variety of easy-to-follow pieces.

Love the materials! Students are engaged with the attractive illustrations and the two main characters!

I have loved all of the Hal Leonard series. We have the guitar and violin as well. They are well thought out and excellent.
