This is one of those books. It's so hard to pinpoint what exactly gives these books that extra magical something that draws my kids in and has them demanding this book over the others long before they can talk. But I suspect it's the cadence of the rhyme, the lovely and lively illustrations, and the sweet mama-baby duck dynamic that makes it such a hit. Perfect bedtime/pre-nap story as its short and sweet. Love this one! Review: Grandbabies favorite book - Beautiful illustrated! Rhyming story about momma duck and her one little duckling. Grandbaby laughs with delight when duckling does the dance for its friends. We all love this book!

Gift for a coworker - from a crazy duck mom
I’m a crazy duck mom. My coworker is having a baby. It’s only logical I buy him all the adorable duck baby items I can find!! LOL I had no idea what this book was about when I ordered it and couldn’t wait to read it myself first. I wasn’t disappointed! I actually laughed out loud at the part where he sticks his tail feathers in the air and wiggles them for his friends. HAHA. The book is just adorable. Short and sweet and perfect for a quick read to a young baby. Thick cardboard pages will hold up to toddler hands as their son grows up wants to hold the book himself. I don’t want to ruin the whole story but I had wished there were some idea what the inside of the book was like before I got it so I’m posting a first page, a couple from the middle and the last page to give you an idea. I highly recommend!

Our Favorite Book
This book is mine and my son's favorite bedtime book. We read it several times each night. He is now 22 months old and still loves it as much as he did the first time we read it. It has a nice rhyming flow to it. This story is so sweet as it takes you through the day of a duckling and his or her mommy. It is gender neutral. I am about to purchase my third copy to give as a baby gift. Every mother should have this book to read to her sweet bundle of joy!

Wonderful little book
I bought this book for my 19 month old son, who loves ducks. He will bring it over me and settle in as I read it to him. One reading is never enough, though. The story is sweet and simple, and the illustrations are colorful and charming. I'm so glad I purchased this book and recommend it highly if you have a little one.

Such a cute book
I have purchased this with the waddling duck as baby gifts and 1 year old birthday gifts. That combination has always been a bit!

Great bedtime story!!!
LOVE this book. So many "mommy" books are simply sold on being "mommy" and don't much substance. This book is a stand out. It has beautiful illustrations, my 15mo loves pointing to the duck, frog, flower, etc. The story is a wonderful description of a day spent together with the mommy and her baby duck including going for a swim, playing with friends, taking a nap, etc. Great bedtime story.

Loving time with my kids.
I love this book but it came with a coffee stain on the front and ripped up the top...didn't know it was coming second hand to me....it's a gift.

I read my 5-year-old budgie a story after he goes into his cage for bedtime. Since we started reading him THIS story, it is much easier to coax him to go into his cage for "Nite, nite." Very good quality board book with a soft padded cover. Nice size, not too big and not too small. Beautifully illustrated and the rhythm of the rhyming sentences is very pleasant and calming. My budgie has even started repeating some of the little words, such as "busy bee". He really is TOO cute!

A cute, rhythmic story to read aloud to my baby. I received it as a gift when my toddler was born a few years ago and now with my second baby, I still enjoy reading it (I know the lines by heart!). And I’ve also now gifted it to new parents who also enjoy reading it to their little ones. I love the large book and soft hard cover design and parents of little early risers will also appreciate the opening lines: “The sun is up and so am I. I've woken Mommy too! I just can't wait to start our day: We've lots to see and do!”

Beautiful book and great artwork throughout. I bought this because I have 'A kiss for little kitten's and I fell in love with the story and artwork of a little kitten waking up, getting into trouble, playing all day, then going to sleep at night. This book is similar in the storyline but had a bit more substance to it I find. The article seems a bit more detailed and the story has a few more detailed excursions than the kitten version. Still a great book for a young child. Love this!
