Analog audio is disappointing but overall a good KVM switch that maintains refresh rate for gaming
I bought this KVM switch with the goal of seamlessly switching between my gaming desktop setup and my work laptop. I have an Asus ROG PG279 monitor and I was looking for a switch that would maintain the 165 Hz refresh rate at 2560x1440 resolution and work with G-Sync. After a while of searching, I finally settled on the ATEN CS1942DP.Additionally, I used a Dell D6000 docking station I had from work, two additional display port 1.2 cables, and a powered USB 3.0 hub to get the complete setup to work. Note the device come with 4 display port 1.2 cables thus, you need 2 more and the cables must be display port 1.2 cables, display port 1.1 cables will not work. The USB hub must have its own separate power. I found that once I had the right peripheral equipment, the ATEN CS1942 was pretty much plug and play. I had more issues with the dell D6000's dock station's firmware than any thing else.Once I had everything connected and the firmware issues sorted, this ATEN KVM switch works flawlessly. I can switch between my gaming desktop and my work laptop within a second. I tested several games, Destiny, Fortnite, Rust, Skyrim and I maintained all of my usual refresh rates on high settings (over 144Hz). The Nvidia control panel confirms that G-sync is enabled. As other reviewers have noted, there are issues with the sound. You will hear a lot of crackling and bzzzz in the background. My friend suggested that it could be feedback in the cables? and suggested shielded cables may help but I just chose to plug my desktop directly into my speakers to bypass the issue since I don't need sound from my work laptop and often if I'm gaming, I wear headphones plugged directly into my PC.This KVM switch worked for my use case so I was happy with it but, if the sound issues are going to be a deal breaker for you, look elsewhere.

Major features work, but a handful of frustrations.
This is written for the USB3.0 DisplayPort Dual Display KVMP Switch. It's tough to find a KVM that is actually USB3.1, Dual Monitor and Display Port 1.2 based _and_ can do 4K at 60Hz. This switch is capable of all of that and as of right now there are only a couple other KVM's like that. One of them is an IOGEAR device which appears to be the exact same thing as this. The basic things this device claim worked for me. I did get dual display fast usb etc.Several minor features I could not get working even after many chats on the support site. Things that didn't work include:* It wasn't compatible with a gaming mechanical keyboard. Neither the dedicated keyboard slot, not the USB hub slots actually worked with the keyboard. I had to run the keyboard through an additional powered USB hub to get it working.* MST should let you connect multiple monitors through a single cable. This never worked for me.Other limitations* Bluetooth devices don't work if the bluetooth receiver is plugged into this. I think this is a common issue with KVMs due to interference, but beware if you use a bluetooth mouse you can't use this to switch it.* Also common to any KVM like this, beware that HDMI output can not generally be converted to Display Port at 4K 60Hz. There are tons of converters which will turn DisplayPort to HDMI but it was hard to find a device that goes the other way. Eventually I found a good converter but it can't hit 4K/60Hz. If you have HDMI coming out of your computer you should beware of this.* Finally note that although this is USB 3.1, it's not compatible with Thunderbolt, doesn't accept USB C directly, and MST didn't actually work for me. This means if you have a single USB-C/Thunderbolt cable and want to drive two displays you need additional adapters with dual display port output and USB 3.0 A/B (not C) output.

Mostly works but is not compatible with my USB audio interface
This KVM was easy to setup.I transitioned from an earlier IOGEAR KVM because I wanted to go from DVI to DisplayPort. The controls are surprisingly the same, where I tap scroll lock twice and then tap the 1 or 2 key to switch between computers. The beep is a little more shrill but aside from that, that mechanical part works fine. The price is a decent value for what you get. I understand that in this day and age, KVMs are still kind of a specialty device so they are priced higher than one might expect. All the cables were included which is nice. I have heard others having difficulties finding compatible DisplayPort cables.I attached a 7-port USB hub (powered) to the front USB hub to share more peripherals. So far that has been working well. However there is one key thing that is NOT working right, and it is my RME Babyface audio interface. When plugged to the USB hub and connected to my Mac, it will glitch out and stutter and stop playing audio every few seconds. That is a real shame so I am looking for a separate USB sharing switch to see if that works. Interestingly this happened with two different Macs. It works fine with my Windows PC. But wanted to put that out there in case anyone has a similar pro audio thing going.Overall happy but this part bugs me so I’m trying to find a better way.

Does what it's supposed to.
Does what it's supposed to, with some minor quirks which are more the fault of DisplayPort than anything else. It doesn't play nice with bluetooth wireless mouse and keyboard. You may have to play with the different USB ports on the KVM. I got it working though and it's been bulletproof.Far better than dealing with dual boots for a mixed OS environment.Happy overall though! Finally a real KVM for professional multi monitor setups
