Inexpensive spring compressors that work.
Inexpensive spring compressors that work. Ends have a 1/2" drive hole in them for impact or hand wrench turning. I was able to put vice grips on the end without the nut on it on order to turn it in a low clearance wheel well (Porsche). Worked very well and vice grips never slipped. These also gripped the spring/cup well and never once looked as they would slip off.Not sure the folks complaining about it not working are using them correctly or for the correct application(s).

Works well, well made
I needed to remove a front strut on my 2007 Pontiac G6. The tool worked well in this application with just a little bit of fussing. It was a tight fit between the spring and inner fender.I didn't have to but, I could understand why some applications might have to cut some length off of the screws, in order to make then clear the inner fender. I'm glad that I did have the extra length, in case I needed it for a longer spring. The springs on my application probably only put a medium load on the tool. It worked well with no sign of bending/overload. The cast "claws" are made as a casting. I don't know if they are made from low strength gray iron or higher strength nodular iron.

They got the job done
Used this on my 2008 Toyota Tundra Base with 5.7L engine. I bought this so that I could change just the shocks, since I didn't notice any damage or reason the change the springs under my front end. Due to limited room, I had some issues with getting both of them on the springs evenly. Once I had them in place, they worked perfectly. I did notice some slight bending when under tension, but that appeared to go away once I removed them.

Excellent bang for the buck.
Excellent for the money. Sure there are better and stronger versions of this tool out there but not at under $20. Just changed four heavy duty OME springs on my 2002 Montero, including the front coil-overs which can be a real pain! The tool did start bending a little near the end but continued to work well. The key is to not overdo it and evenly tighten each side of the spring slowly. Would definitely buy again - 100% worth the money.

you get what you pay for
i used these spring compressors to compres the springs on my 2016 yamaha wolverine rspec and i they were a little too big but still worked. i also used it on my 2016 ram 1500 to compress the front springs in order to put bilstein shocks on. again it worked but not very good. i couldnt compress the springs with a ratchet and was barely able to do it with an impact gun. the bolts dug into main body and left metal shaving everywhere. the bolt also began to strip out. also the threaded part startd to flex under pressure. it got the job done but was sketchy at best. i guess i shouldnt be complaining considering the price. bottom line, they worked but i shouldve paid more for a better set. you get what you pay for
