First rate!
This was one fantastic story. It speaks the sad truth about the returning vets who can't find their way back from the horrors of war to civilian life. They've sacrificed so much for us and to not be able to find jobs or especially the help they need to reenter society speaks volumes about the government's indifferent. It's shameful. The men in this story found a way to support themselves and their loved ones. While unusual, it speaks to the dedication and pride they hold dear. The explanations for doing what didn't come naturally to them was thoughtful and so believable. Sex is just that...Sex. Does it really matter who it's with as long as it is safe and consensual? No.This was a very well written story. It's thought provoking and I highly recommend it. I know I will be reading it again.Well done!

A- rating...
My Review:Wow...I liked this book, but I didn't expect it to be as deep as it was.The story begins with Eli as he's trying to adjust to civilian life and find a job after leaving the Marines. He'd saved every penny during the last 6-8 years of service only to discover that his parents stole every cent of it while he was overseas. My heart hurt for Eli as the weeks go by and his self-worth drops just as quickly as his meager bank account. The hard thing about this story was how easy it was to see something like this happening. He runs into Royce, a middle aged Vet who gives him a ride, at Wal-Mart. When Royce hears Eli's story, he gives him a card and an opportunity. Gay for pay porn. His site specializes in military men...usually straight...acting out gay fantasy videos. Eli says no way, but as things become more and more bleak, he becomes more and more willing to compromise his morals. It's either that or live on the street. The first guy he meets on the job is Hamish. Hamish has been with the company for a while and he takes Eli under his wing and they quickly become friends. In fact, all these guys are friends. I don't know how realistic it is, but I loved that whole aspect of the video company. Guys view sex as just that...it's a physical act, not emotional for them and that's the way they view what they are doing. It's just sex and they are all doing this to support their families so they support each other without judgement. But I also really loved how Hamish and Eli formed this incredibly strong friendship first. In fact, for Eli there isn't really much of an attraction there at all. He is straight, but this is a great gay-for-you story.I have to admit that I have a weakness for m/m books that feature porn careers, but this was truly a great one. I loved both these characters...Eli for the difficulties and vulnerabilities he has regardless of his hot, alpha persona and Hamish for being just such an all-around good guy. I could see myself liking both of them completely in real life. They felt real and even with the bizarre circumstances, the story line felt true. I liked it...a LOT! A definite recommend from me especially if you're like me and like military/porn star themes.

The Author did a brilliant job of introducing the reader to the gay-for-pay porn ...
This book was very different to what I had expected and was totally drawn into the MCs lives and story. The Author did a brilliant job of introducing the reader to the gay-for-pay porn world and made it very believable. The MCs were lovely and I enjoyed their developing relationship which seemed natural and unhurried. The only downside to this book for me was that I felt it finished it a bit abruptly, but to be honest I could have spent another 300-400 pages with these characters and would have still been asking for more, so I can’t really blame the Author for that.A very enjoyable read and I highly recommend it.

Lame resolution of a potentially good story! It lost its way.
Given all the research the author claimed he did, I would have expected a REALISTIC jeopardy for his MC's that challenges the perpetuated belief that Gay-for-Pay doesn't have any real social and psychological consequences for the hired video sex workers, especially given the PERMANENCY, video, of the choices these guys make all in the name of money, fun, exhibitionism. The contrived in harms way for the MC's didn't ring to be authentic given the seriousness and quality of the writing up to that point. And the weak resolution of the internal conflict of Eli was lame!

Love love love this book! Def hot and steamy but with a great and original story line. Characters were extremely likeable and often funny. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. So worth adding to your collection. I highly recommend this purchase.

A story with a good message
I have to agree that the story wasn't enhanced by the crazy stalker angle at the end. I think another plot device to keep the characters together would have been much better. But I enjoyed the book for the most part. Yes the ending became a little cheesy but wasn't that bad. There was lots of sex but that's the point of the story. I've only read one other book of Mr. Cade's and it was just okay. This one at least made me think a little. What I liked was the point I think Mr. Cade was trying to make. Or at least my interpretation of it. The characters were "straight" guys having sex with each other. Eli found himself falling for Hamish and the sex turned into lovemaking. Eli then allowed himself to get hung up on the gay label. Like too many so-called straight men, he equates being gay to being wrong or bad. I think that the message here is that sex is sex, no matter who's involved and love is what truly matters. Society, religion and culture continue to promote and reinforce negative reactions to anyone who's not acting the way they want or expect.
