Great ladder! Easy to get in & out of the pool now!
The media could not be loaded. My former ladder was literally "a ladder" on both sides. Having the steps with this ladder makes it really easy to get in and out of my pool. Like a lot of others, we put it in backwards with the steps on the outside of the pool. We hired a contractor to put a cement paver base to keep the ladder steady. We're gonna try leaving it in the pool over the winter instead of taking it apart. Finger's crossed on that LOL!UPDATE! In 2023, we removed the "ladder" part that we had in the water. We left the stairs (outside of the pool) in place. This spring 2024, everything was perfect! I power-washed the steps, attached the ladder and all was good! Also, my brother-in-law is about 250 pounds and not that nimble. He can easily and safely get in and out of my pool with the steps on the outside. There is also a railing that he could hold for balance. This InPool Step & Ladder is AWESOME!

Defies physics
I can't keep this in the water. It keeps floating up. Instructions were just awful and useless. My dad and I were able to figure out - he did one side and I did the other. Instructions were in English but didn't seem to make sense, like they were missing a step or explanation.Directions say to fill with sand to keep it in the water. What I don't understand is how do you get it out of the pool in the winter if it's full of sand. Perhaps that's why mine keeps floating - because I filled with water? My other ladder was filled with water and wasn't a problem. Then as i lifted it out of the water, it would drain and I could lift over the wall. I can't understand how you'd lift this.I love the steps concept. Exactly why I picked this style. Very sturdy. I imagine works best with a deck (which it seems compatible to do). Right now I don't have a deck so need the last side. But once I have the deck, i won't need to buy another ladder. My only complaint is that the steps are open in the back so difficult to clean the pool there. Where my ladder is positioned makes our hard to move aside. I believe this is more of an issue of my placement. But if this wad attached to a deck, you can't move aside at all so cleaning would be impossible. I believe other styles like this are solid in back - to avoid an algae problem and help with weight.

Works very well for Intex 52" pools.
So, this worked out very well. Obviously I installed it in a reverse configuration ; I wanted the steps with handrails on the outside. The issue is that your pool vacuum cleaner will get behind the ladder. You have to deal with that. Stability and confidence? Very good. Minimal wobble or uncertainty. Fishing your cleaner from behind the steps in this configuration? High. All good, not the intention. Miles greater than the trash Intex sends you in the pool package, and worth the trouble. If Intex accounted for this and sent some kind of skirt for the inside(outside), this would be perfect.Great upgrade, expect to untangle your gear, absolutely worth it.I tried the pvc tube, sand weight, etc. Wasn't too impressed.Great upgrade to the standard ladder sent with these pools.

Easy to assemble but, heavy.
We just opened the pool for the season so please excuse the appearance around the pool. Ladder was easy to assemble. Pretty much one person to assemble but, you'll need two to lift over pool because it's a heavy ladder. I didn't like the idea of putting sand inside the ladder forpersonal fear that sand can somehow leak out of ladder and mixing with water so we decided to drown the ladder into pool and fill it up with water instead. There was some floating issues so we took thick zip ties and tied ladder to top pool railing for now. Make sure a pool pad is under ladder to protect pool liner. Steps are wide enough to sit down and relax. Ladder on outside seems sturdy and very little wobble. Overall good sturdy ladder. UPDATE..I noticed if the outside ladder sits in high heat weather all day it will soften the plastic ladder. So when you climb it, it will bow a bit.

These stairs make it easier for adults and kids to enjoy an above ground pool
Changed our whole above ground pool experience. These stairs make it easier for adults and kids to enjoy an above ground pool. Wide (blue) steps in pool ~11 inches deep by ~20inches wide. Top step is less and outside steps are about 4 inch deep. Will require multiple people to assemble and move in place. Steps are wide enough to sit comfortably on.WARNING: You must use a razor knife and flat file to reduce and flatten every plastic edge or you will get cut. It took me about 2 hours to flatten all the excess plastic casting and make it safe. Just assembling these stairs had me bleeding from the finger tips as the plastic was SHARP.Secondly - put as much sand as you can in the stair before you put handles on (After you put base in pool). A large funnel and dry sand works well. We put ~65 lbs in and the stairs still move a little but they do not float (Yes some sand will work its way out and it will tops off once a year). We ended up tying (in an X pattern) the left side of the stair to a point on the pool right behind the right side of the stair and vice versa. Now the stairs do not walk around.

Worst product I have ever bought from amazon!
I was excited to put this together, tire of cheap ladder that came with pool, until I put it together. Seriously dissatisfied, it had good reviews and with the price it has to be great right. I was wrong again. It's a over priced unstable piece of crap. Oh yeah and the ladder and steps color scheme wasn't even the same! I will be returning!

The outside steps become weak in the heat
This product doesn’t seem as strong or sturdy as advertised the inside steps seem okBut when it gets hot around a hundred degrees the outside steps become weak and unstable.
