Out of the box the unit was packed well and looked like a quality casting. It even came with crimp connectors for the power leads. These wires were also 18 gauge and a quality primary wire. There was not much under the cap except a small sensor where the points would be. I oiled the distributor and dropped it in. It fit perfectly. I wired it to the coil without the ballast resistor. It has 12 volts to the distributer. I set the timing to 12 BTC and got another 6 degrees from the vacuum advance. The vacuum advance is adjustable. The engine runs great and it corrected the problem I had with the old distributer. For the price I paid on desertcart this is a bargain for a quality automotive part.
