This dye kit is very effective for locating leaks. The fluorescent dye is easy to see underwater and makes diagnosing issues much faster. It worked exactly as described and saved a lot of guesswork. I definitely prefer the yellow over the purple dye.

Works great to find my small pool leak

I have an above ground pool that was leaking about 1 inch of water per week. Over the winter I let it go until it stopped losing water. Thinking I could visually find the leak, I tried food coloring, etc. Nothing seemed to work and I couldn't find it. Come spring I refilled it and gave it a couple of days for any current to stop. I took the syringe and about every 6 feet I applied a small amount. After going all around the pool, I gave it about 30 mins to "travel". Sure enough it lead me to the side seam. I applied a waterproof tape to the seam and waited a couple of days before repeating the process. This time no leaks, the color just stayed where I put it. This stuff is great mainly because it's VERY visible (yellow) and doesn't dissipate quickly. If you suspect a leak, this is money we'll spent. Nothing negative to report.

Take your time, it took me about 2 hours to find a leak the size of 2 rice grains. The fluorescent liquid quickly went out the pool making it easy to find the leak. High visibility, easy to see in sunlight and shadow. Shows flow better than leak. My leak was between drain bucket and gunite and you had to watch carefully to see the dye being pulled in. But it worked and is relatively inexpensive.

Think food coloring would b cheaper! Didnt work well did not find holes.

This dye worked well to show me where the leak was in our pool. Had a pool tech come out to do the hard part, but missed a couple of small ones. This dye was easy enough for anyone to use. It’s literally point and shoot. Bought my own epoxy putty to patch the leaks. Oh, the yellow dye color pops out and doesn’t dissipate quickly giving it enough time to follow the leaks.

Update: I found the leak thanks to the dye! Received it next day and the bottle was intact. I have a leak in the pool and the dye helped us figure out that the leak is not from the jets or plugs. Still investigating but the dye was helpful. The yellow colour is very bright so easy to follow and to be noticed. It doesn’t last long so is more for hand reach places. If you try to find a leak in the liner at the bottom of the pool, you have to dive in the pool as the dye won’t last. The quantity will last for a long time.

There is quite a bit of liquid included, hopefully enough to find your leak. The dye is very easy to see in the sunlight or on a cloudy day. It can be difficult to use since you need to get the dye very close to the hole for it to be pulled in.

Amazing how this works! I suspected where the leak was in my pool, applied product as indicated and voila the dye was sucked right in. Fixed the leak and now waiting to confirm no more leaks. Didn’t even use the full syringe that was provided so have a full bottle to share with family and friends who might need this. Works much better than food colouring!
