MARIPOSA WALL DECOR

I had been looking awhile for an easy-to-mount, modern butterfly accent and these are perfect! I love the 3 sizes and though I ordered and used as white, they are sturdy plastic and seem like they would take paint well if you want a different color to match your decor. I ordered these on subscribe and save and may keep them coming for awhile because they really look so fun! With my one package of 9, I did our entry way and a small little accent in my sewing room (that has white butterfly wallpaper on one of the other walls!). These are a really sweet, simple, and affordable home accent.

Update: these have been up for a few weeks and they are sticking just fine. I love them!These were exactly what I was looking for and they were very inexpensive compared to similar products. I used acrylic paint and a sponge and painted them brown to match my decor. So far they look like they’re going to stay in place! I will update my review if that changes!

These are exactly what I expected and great to decorate any wall with. My suggestion is if you want to make a dramatic effect to get more than one package (1 only has 9--which looks nice still) My concern is how I am going to get these off my wall and not damage the wall when I have to move in a month. I didn't expect the sticker to be so permanent. And also, make sure before you stick it on the wall that you're 100% sure that's the spot you want it, because they don't budge.

These were somewhat smaller than I had expected, but still very nice. They stick to the wall by a system of plastic snaps that you affixed with strong adhesive dots (they will tear the paint off the wall when you take them down, no matter how carefully you try to do it-- but they also won't fall off once you've decided where you want them). The snaps are all the same size, so you have some flexibility in rearranging them once they are on the wall, as well as mix-and-matching them with other Umbra wall decor sets.Note-- parents should be aware they can be easily pulled off the half of the snaps that attach to the wall. Best to keep out of reach of little hands.

When I ordered them- I had planned to use them in my bed room- But- my younger sister passed away suddenly- Now I have them (butterflies mean renewall of life) around the last pictures we had recently taken of us- The install easily- I read some complaints about staying put- But mine have- They look lovely on a bright blue wall- as if sorounding our picture- I will buy more for my bed room- so yes, I recommend product- Good size- nice white color- worth the price- packed for safe travel & on time-

I probably should give these more than a three! Because of the small bullseye one left on my wall while trying to reposition it, I have no choice. These are adorable and was the exact look I was going for in scattering them around my picture grouping. So, I recommend that you DO NOT use the adhesive tabs that come with then. Opt for command strips instead. You will have to have some patience though. The adhesives that came with the butterflies were hard to peel anyway. They did provide a better mounting as the Velcro commands are a little bulky. I do like them and since I have placed two with the original adhesive, I can’t remove them without damaging my wall. Must figure out an alternative at this point. The clear command strips will work and at least you have the assurance of not damaging your walls and you can reposition as desired. You can’t safely do that with the ones that come with the butterflies, in my opinion.

I am so glad I found these. I originally purchased these years ago on modcloth, and they're no longer available, but these were the best butterflies, as far as stability and everything and I found them finally and was not disappointed.Will definitely order more. I do hope they come out with more colors.

Overall, this CONCEPT is a beautiful easy way to add accents to your decor. However, the main issue is that the items are not metal. Instead, they are made from plastic, albeit a sturdy PVC material in a matte finish. Next the little “plug & snap” with adhesive method of attaching the butterflies doesn’t hold up if you just want unsnap one to switch with another in placement. The snap circles become stretched out of shape easily causing the butterflies to fall off your wall. It’s very difficult to reattach them because you can’t see where the snap and plug aligns. The back of the plugs attach to the surface with a little double-sided adhesive dot with a “tail” so the tape can be easily removed, much like the 3M Command strips. But once you remove the butterfly, you’re done unless you laboriously cut out tiny stickers from your own double-sided tape. The manufacture should include twice the amount of stickers to give the buyer some flexibility in placing the butterflies. If you must map out exactly where you want each butterfly to go BEFORE attaching it. I finally managed to get mine up in a nice arrangement only to have them drop off one by one in the 108 degree temps here in Phoenix. Not that my apartment inside gets that hot. But a combination of being on the top floor, even with my AC running full blast day and night, the butterflies just couldn’t handle it, poor things. :-( Okay, that’s just an excuse to attempt to explain this epic FAIL in the product. I don’t know how these things got so many positive reviews - unless the product has changed over the years. I like them so I’m going to figure out a way to reuse them. Maybe a mobile for my 3 year-old granddaughter who is less discerning about plastic LEGO-like decor. But Nanna spends way too much money for nice artwork for her walls to put these in my living room. Or even my bathroom.
