Q: Are the pot and lid handles hot to handle with bare hands after boiling water for a while?

For steaming 4~5 minutes with 1" ~ 1 1/2" boiling water, handles are warm but not hot. But best to use protective gloves.

Q: Whats the difference between the 8-qt multicooker and the 7-qt Pasta Pentola (other than size and extra insert)? It's half the price!

Basically 1 quart in size is the only difference besides what you already said. I love it, but if I would have seen the 7quart I would have went with that. I'm only cooking for 3 people. Hope this helps
