The RJ45 design may date from the era of glam metal and space hoppers, but it's still an essential port for many of us to have on a PC to this day. Its disappearance from many laptops is becoming a nuisance! Thankfully UGREEN (and many others) have stepped in to fill the void, at the cost of one of your dwindling pool of ports. And there's really not much to say. I'm very much satisfied with the product and its performance. I have cranked the data rate as far as my home gear allows and this adapter keeps up - so no complaints from me. No doubt people with heavier bandwidth needs may need something more chunky but they're not going to be on pages buying cheap dongles! Build quality is fine all round. The styling is professional and understated. The only gripe is that the USB C plug itself is just a little more loose than I'd like. Not enough to come out of its own accord, but just lacks that reassuring snugness of fit if you know what I mean. Also can't rule out it being the fault of the laptop's socket so won't hold it against the dongle!

My wi-fi connection to my router (within arm's reach of my laptop) has been plagued with wild swings in speed and occasional cut-outs. As I mainly use my laptop at home rather than on the move, I got around that in the past by using the ethernet port and hard-wiring my internet connection. But my new laptop, admirable though it may be otherwise, does not have an ethernet socket. Enter this USB adaptor, which plugged in to my laptop, connected straight away and didn't give me any nonsense. I have since relocated it to my USB hub, just for neatness. Out of curiosity, I tried it with an USB-C to USB-A adaptor, but that didn't connect. I don't know the spec of the adaptor, though. Therefore I have also ordered a version with a USB-A plug to connect another item that doesn't have any available C type sockets.

Bought this for work as my laptop no longer having a dedicated ethernet port. Works a charm and has been very durable since purchase. I've seen speeds very fast and works great working upclose with networking equipment.

Llevo ya varios años usando este adaptador USB-C a Ethernet de 1 Gbps y la verdad es que funciona de maravilla. La instalación fue plug & play, sin necesidad de drivers ni configuraciones complicadas. La velocidad de conexión es estable y alcanza sin problemas el gigabit, lo que se nota mucho en descargas y en juegos online. Además, es compacto, ligero y fácil de llevar en la mochila junto al portátil. Después de tanto tiempo de uso sigue rindiendo como el primer día, sin cortes ni sobrecalentamientos.
