Pink Sharpening Stone Fixer (Japan Import)

Very good fixer, make sure you use it the way it was intended
Worked quite nicely for cleaning all of my stones. I'm a bit amateur at this; this is my first stone fixer and I was very wary because of all the negative reviews. It came in one solid piece, nothing broken or chipped. It was actually wrapped in about a hundred layers of material to keep it safe. In addition, it did have quite a few lips on the edges that I could see damaging a stone. However, this is extremely easy to avoid: just soak it, bring it outside, and gently file the lips down on a rock or something. It doesn't have to be exact, and the stone doesn't have to be perfectly level. Since it's smaller than your average waterstone, its up to you to pay attention to the stone and apply the fixer uniformly. I've attached a pic of a quick before-and-after of the edges.Overall I'm very satisfied with the purchase. Don't be afraid to get this, just remember to think ahead of time and prep the fixer a bit before using it.

Works great, needs a little cleanup
Works great, flattens and fixes all my stones up to 6000 grit. I haven't noticed it leave any scratches or anything -- if you make circular motions it will remove a thin layer of material and leave you with a nice clean flat surface. As mentioned you might have to remove some burring of the edges

Three Stars
I bought this to flatten my Shapton stones but the width is too small.

This stone left some unpleasant scratches and gouges in my stones when I used it. If you plan on buying it or already have it, round off the corners to mitigate this effect. Still would not recommend

It's smaller than advertised!
Size is listed as 3.1" x 3.3" x 7.2". Actual size is much smaller: 2" x 1" x 6". I'm returning it unused because it's just too small to do what it's supposed to.

then very lightly towards the finishing stages to get a pretty smooth surface
I have nothing to compare this to, as it was my first stone flattener.. But if you want to flatten your whetstones, then this will do it.Ive used it numerous times and I dont even think Ive put a dent in it!Some might say it leaves large gouges in your stones, which I had happen too, but I changed my technique; scrubbing hard at first, then very lightly towards the finishing stages to get a pretty smooth surface. Works great in my opinion.I would buy again when the time comes.

Good Flattening Stone
Made it here all in one piece from Japan, what a relief. It was well packaged with bubble wrapping to prevent it from cracking during transit. It's a little bit on the coarser side. As others have mentioned can gouge your stone if you use too much pressure. I use this to flatten a King two-sided stone (only the coarse side). Use light even pressure and it won't gouge the stone that bad. Could be a finer grind but what can you do. I drew a little grid on the stone with pencil, it does flatten the stone quite well.

Does its job right. Only thing that would be negative is the stone chips fairly easy.
