You get what you pay for. Great features and quality.
I had a hard time choosing between the normal size (large) Siege and this AA Siege. In the end I chose the AA version because for me I needed a lantern to be multifunctional based on what I'm doing. I will be using this for camping with a boat to halt items. I will be using this with a canoe and need to pack smarter and lighter. I will be using this as a light when hiking. And I will also use it at home during power outages. So for me it seemed smarter to go with the lightest choice the AA. This little lantern is AWESOME! I was very pleased with its performance. In the past I've worn a headlamp for any external light that I needed, but this little lantern worked so much better. I didn't have plans on using this for any of my hiking adventures, but it could be since the size and weight are minimal. I'm very pleased with the lanterns light output, and should only have to use it on the low setting for most occasions. You can attach it to the nylon loop, that's located in most tents, at the very top of the roof by using the D ring style spring clip located at the bottom of the lantern, or just place it in the tents attic net. The D ring makes this lantern usable in most any situation and really was the selling point for me along with waterproof / floatable, since I canoe. The weight with batteries is right at 8 oz. according to my scale. On Streamlight's website it says 8.8 oz. I've attached some photos that will show the lantern with a tape measure, and a deck of cards for size comparison. Overall I think this product is great and has great features. It is a little pricy but Amazon had a great price on them much cheaper than the local stores. For functionality, weight, and features it's well worth it.

My Go-To Lantern for Scout Campouts
The Streamlight Siege AA lantern has become my go-to lantern for Scout campouts. It is compact, easy to pack, and puts out plenty of light for tent use, campsite tasks, and general evening use around camp. I like that it has both white and red LED modes, which makes it more versatile than a basic lantern. The red light is especially useful at night when you want some visibility without being overly bright or disruptive. The AA battery setup is also convenient because the batteries are easy to find and replace. Overall, this is a dependable camping lantern that is well suited for Scouts, emergency kits, and regular outdoor use.

Very good small lantern
This appears to be an updated version of the Rayovac green lantern which was very popular about ten years ago. Getting the batteries properly installed in that lantern, was interesting, to say the least. First of all, this lantern is surprisingly small, which is not a bad thing. No, you are not going to get the same level of light from it, that you would get from a full sized Coleman propane fueled lantern. Those full sized propane lanterns are heavy, run dangerously hot, and you have to deal with those extremely fragile mantels, which fall apart if you look at them wrong. This lantern is surprisingly bright, for its' size. If you are looking to illuminate a large area, I would buy two. There is a low, medium and high setting. Plus a "low" red light setting, and a "blinking" red light setting. All modes are easy to access via a green illuminated push button. The outstanding feature, in my opinion, is that it operates off of three AA batteries, and rechargeables' work fine. I am using Sanyo Eneloop batteries, which last just about, forever. The lantern is rugged and well made. You can remove the top portion and hang the lantern upside down for a very bright direct light. This lantern would serve well during a power outage or for any night time activity. I haven't used it long enough to determine how quickly it will run through batteries. If you use rechargeable batteries, you can just slap a fresh set in, when necessary. Overall, a good quality product.

Read before purchasing
Works and looks as described, on the heavy side, nice hook, very sturdy and well-made, read dimensions on description, on the smaller side, easier to carry 3 extra AA batteries than drain your charger on a rechargeable light, red light works ... as described - no more, no less - does give off enough light for a small area - now the con .. the white lights - there is no low light - the lowest setting will attract mosquitoes and everything else around, almost blinding - great for a home emergency light, in the garage, the sort of activity where you WANT a hella lot of light, but for hiking and camping, maybe not - you and all your surrounding neighbors will have zero night vision .. this is on low I'm talking about, not the higher 2 - the higher ones will contact aliens

Excellent product
Think of this as a personal lantern and not a camp space lantern. It is bright enough to light up a camp sight but not as well as some larger lanterns. For personal use, hanging in the tent, night boating, or light backpack camping this is an excellent product. My two year old fell in love with it before I ever got to take it outdoors and I can attest that it drops well without damage. It is light, sturdy, and uses AA batteries which are all pluses for me. It floats and has very sturdy accessories like the carabiner hook for hanging this in your tent or from any tether or belt. The red light feature is a nice plus, especially for hunting night crawlers (red light doesn't cause worms to react) and seeing in a tent without waking anyone up. It also has an emergency SOS flash pattern. So nice features and very well sealed and durable. I used it for 4 nights of camping and didn't give battery life a second thought. That was after my kids played with it days ahead of that. Excellent product. I am buying a second one.

Very useful compact lantern
I also have the 3 D-cell version, which also works quite well, but this has quickly become my go-to work light. It's the perfect size to tuck into relatively small spaces and provide even light, while still having the features of a full-size lantern, like a proper diffuser. It's also something that, unlike a larger lantern, is hardly noticeable when packed for a trip or in an emergency kit, but provides full-lantern versatility and compares pretty favorably on light output. Even the dimmest setting I've found has been adequate for close-in work. I use low-discharge NIMH batteries in it, and it seems to provide decent battery life and steady output. The battery loading is also better-designed than similar models I've used, and batteries can be swapped quickly if needed. The rubberized coating also seems to protect it from getting bumped around, it's survived some short drops and still works fine. Probably the best all-around lantern I've used so far in this form factor.

Super bright, super small, super well made, works great with rechargeable batteries
Fantastic product. In this category there seems to be a lot of cheap junk, and a few $$$ things that are really well made. Not much in between. This is $$$ and very well made. Just the feel of the parts is excellent. And the design is superb. Makes a great lantern. Can hang from a cord or an edge. We bought it for power outages, but if we still camped, it would be perfect for camping. The lantern is surprisingly small. Slightly taller than a soda can and definitely thinner. It's smaller than I had expected. Also, the diffuser comes off, and the remaining stub of the light works well in the hand as a very bright light either for work or for searching the floor for lost items. (Removing the diffuser improves brightness, but there is a lot of glare. It works well with rechargeable batteries. Brand makes a difference. With some Powerex batteries it was quite good, but with the Sanyo Eneloop batteries it was noticeably brighter. All in all, one of the most superior products of any kind I have had the pleasure to own. If it were just a bit cheaper I would buy one for each car as an emergency light. As is, an excellent choice for camping or for emergencies.

Resiste agli urti
1 intensità a luce rossa. 1 modalità lampeggiante a luce rossa. Qualità dei mpateriali al TOP. Dopo mesi di uso in casa e fuori casa posso dire che è un ottimo prodotto!!!

Great Lamp. Great Value
There are many lanterns that are much cheaper, so if quality, robust build and useful features are not of interest, stay clear. If however like me you value quality and expect your purchase to last more than a month or two, this may be for you. A small unit, but very bright with three brightness settings. A low battery warning light, a red and flashing option. It used three AA batteries, which are cheap and can be found almost anywhere. Waterproof, lots of rubber around the base and a very useful carry/ hanging loop. Mine will light an average room well enough, ideal for unlit rooms like sheds, or even power cuts. As said, not cheap but better one of these than three or four tinny cheap ones that may well let you down just when you need them.

Perfect For Motorcycle Camping
Bought this to use while camping on the motorbike. It's perfect, bloody bright, and seems to last for ages. Used it over 2 week long trips for several hours each day and the batteries are still going strong.
