These are the best plate and picture stands. They hold really delicate platters to really heavy pictures with great function and ease.

We use these for display of antique glass and china pieces, so security in supporting the objects is critical to us. These stands don't tip over like tripod style stands. The plastic is safer for use with glass and china than are the metal stands, as they won't mar the edges of the glass or china piece. And they are adjustable -- you can adjust for the perfect angle so that the piece is perfectly displayed. As folding stands, they take up less room when stored for future use than do the typical wooden tripod or metal stands. And the clear plastic does not detract from the appearance of the pieces we are displaying. We've used dozens of these stands for hundreds of pieces of glass and china, and we've never had a failure of the stand nor an accidental damage that was caused by the stand itself. The stands are available in a variety of sizes, but we find this size to be the perfect size of 99% of what we display.

I liked this so much I bought a second set. I use them for displaying books in a library. What is nice is they are deep so we could put up to 4 or 5 paperback books on display and when students take one or more there was still a display instead of an empty holder. They hold any width of book unlike some of the other types that were two wide for smaller books. Easy to adjust the angle.

Nice and work for what I need them to do, however the backing was very tight, so when trying to adjust it with 1 piece of china on, it was difficult. This, I had to take it off and reposition everything. Also, on some surfaces it sat uneven, with or without the china on it, but luckily for my needs, it wasn’t noticeable. Not all of them did that, so it could have been the way I pulled the backing up. They were overall a good purchase!

I owned a large gift store many years ago and used these for display purposes. I bought them wholesale from a place outside of Chicago--at least 20 years ago. Can you believe? I am no longer in the retail business, but I kept many of these stands for my own use. I still have ten or so left; holding up a lot of platters and such. But I need more and was very happy to see them offered here on Amazon.I cannot recommend these highly enough. They hold up way more weight and bulk than you would think they would. The clear acrylic base/bottom "hooks" recede into the background--they are hardly seen when displaying a plate, bowl or platter.A hint: When you open them up--as in lifting the top white rubber-coated heavy wire up and away from the bottom acrylic stand--they often bind if you are not lifting evenly and the stand "rocks". I hope I can describe this for you correctly: Keeping the stand mostly closed, (if you are right-handed) splay your three middle fingers of your left hand out on top of the front rung of the acrylic stand and underneath the rubber back; put your two longest fingers of your right hand in between the splayed left hand fingers; push down on the acrylic base with your left three fingers; lift the rubber top evenly with your right two fingers. No binding: A trick taught to me by a wholesaler way back when.

These are perfect for a multitude of uses. I found them a bit tricky to adjust at first but they are easily expanded by gently separating the two pieces slowly until the joints or hinges loosen a bit. I love that they practically disappear so the focus is the item to be displayed, not the stand it is resting on. I have used these items, although usually purchased from high end gift shops when travelling, and find them to be sturdy and long lasting. I'm not sure if I would try using them with heavy cut glass or other weighty/delicate items but they are great for plates, pictures, photos, books, etc. I plan to purchase more of them and in different sizes. The price is great and I am more than happy with this purchase.

I used these to display my china bowls & serving plates. Because it’s clear plastic, it doesn’t take away from the look of the china. Great product!

I LOVE these plate stands! They're subtle so the focus remains on your display, and they're sturdy when used correctly. Plus they're the same ones used in stores like HomeGoods to display plates and platters. When you open them, make sure the stand is balanced (i.e., not wobbling too much when you press on one foot or the other) before you place your plates. If needed, play around with it a little to make sure you get it right. The end result, sturdy and beautifully displayed plates, is well worth it!

Holds 4 items perfectly, you can even add a tea plate if you would like. Sturdy and of great quality.
