Extremely good build quality. I’ve cut nails screws and metal fencing with this! The grip is quite comfortable. I also like that it can cut so close to the surface. The tool size is perfect and the extra leverage is nice. It also has great alignment.

Top notch cutters. By far the best and toughest pair of diagonals I’ve owned. Comfortable in my hand, and cuts everything with ease.

If you're on the fence on these, take the leap and buy them! I rarely write reviews, but I had to after trying these out over the weekend. I normally buy my hand tools from Lowes or Home Depot, but after getting blisters after heavy use of my old wire cutters due to the incredible pressure I always had to apply to get them to cut fencing, decided to try out Knipex and bite the bullet by paying more than I normally would. Night and day difference! Now I can cut fencing with only minimal pressure. Saturday, I went out and cut fencing for a couple of hours with ease. No blisters, hardly a workout at all. Yeh, they are double or triple the price of local hardware store pliers, but they are worth every pennny!

Knipex is the best plier brand on the market, that of course is not up for debate. Besides Chadstoolbox.com; Amazon is the cheapest you can buy atleast this plier, and probably the quickest delivery too. Only issue being the plier comes shrink wrapped, no box or nothing. I know these pliers come in their own unique box from Knipex; and that since it came in a large box with another order that could be the reason the Knipex box is missing; but if I buy from newKnipex, I want it to arrive in the new unopened box. Cutting ability is supurb and build quality is like no other. Spend the money and buy nice tools.

Comfortable, extra thick grips, cut with less effort than some of my older cutters. "theprojectfarm" is you tube product reviewer , I have watched for years. He gets right to the point with a scientific review and takes no advertisements. I have followed his recommendations for years , always with good results. These diagonal cutters were highly rated, so I bought them. I am not disappointed with the cutters.

These cutters are exactly what you expect from Knipex... top quality. The handle feels great, very ergonomic. They look a little funny with the grips being asymmetrical, but they really do work well that way. The grips are on very solid, they seem very unlikely to come loose and slide off. After a months of daily use on a construction site (electrician) you still can't see daylight through the cutting edge. Fantastic. One thing you'll notice about German tools compared to their American counterparts is they use a different type of steel that is more flexible. You can notice it, when you really squeeze on these cutters there is a little springyness to the handles. This makes the steel less likely to break, its not a sign of low quality materials. Most other German pliers are the same way... it is supposed to help increase the grip or cutting power as well. Only downside is it took about 2 weeks for these to arrive from Germany. Well worth the wait. These are cheaper than the Klein blue handled side cutters with the comfort grip, and they're a little better quality. Can't go wrong with any Knipex product. Once you start using Knipex pliers, you won't want to use any other brand.

Good cutters so i will keep them, but where is the advertised spring that I am looking for. The cheaper cutters I bought from amazon were spring loaded that way after I cut something it opens right out. Also, they cut loud compared to klein cutters.

Bought some cheaper, highly reviewed side cutters for cutting some 1mm stainless steel wire on one of those shark-mail watch straps that need each little loop of steel cut to size them down. They were weak and despite getting several, the quality control was all over. Struggled to make cuts near the tip, which was all the space you could fit them into, and 2/3 of them were badly damaging the cutting faces within 2 or 3 cuts. 1mm hardened stainless wire is no joke. It really hurt my hands to cut. For about the same price as the 3 pack, I got some 74-160's (the 6.25 inch model) and these things just laughed at the metal, literally hot knife through butter. The rounded tip made getting into the space to make the cut between links trickier, but the cut itself is so effortless that the net effort was twenty or thirty times faster per row. I normally love "cheap and cheerful" tools that get the job done. But Knipex just continues to be the "if you really want the tool that will do the job, buy this and never worry about it again" choice. And compared with the others like snap-on, i guess you could call it a good value. Either way, Knipex continues to be the absolute king. I wish I'd gotten the spring loaded one though, it's worth the few extra bucks.
